Climate change has risen resulted in floods, intense rain, and frequent/severe heat waves through the past years. By triggering the continuing increase of Greenhouse gas emissions, “oceans and glaciers have experienced some changes, oceans are warming and becoming more acidic, glaciers are melting, and sea levels are rising” (EPA). These changes will affect our future decades, proving challenging to our society and environment. However, by being energy efficient or changing views in daily life climate change can be reduced. Reducing gas emission reduces the effects of climate change and crucial to organizations to help nurture our planet.

“Human activities have released great amounts of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases into the atmosphere” (FAQ), by burning fossil fuels to make energy. British environmental activist, Mark Lynas states that the “greenhouse effect is natural beneficial” to support life on Earth. Greenhouse gases blanket the Earth, trapping energy from the atmosphere causing it to heat. Our oceans store about 90% of the trapped heat created by greenhouse gases. Carbon dioxide stays in the atmosphere for centuries, festering a warmer planet, affecting our agriculture, water source, transportation systems, natural environment, and our health and safety.

Global warming has really taken effect in the world over the last century by the enhancement of greenhouse emission built-up in the Earth’s environment. NASA claims that “the unusually rapid increase in Earth’s average surface temperature over the century, is due to the release of greenhouse gases burned off as fossil fuels.” These influencers come in the form of water vapor, carbon dioxide, dinitrogen-oxide, and methane.

“30 percent of incoming sunlight is reflected back into space by bright surfaces like clouds and ice. The other 70 percent, is absorbed by the land, ocean and the rest absorbed by the atmosphere” (NASA). More infrared energy emitted by the surface is absorbed by the atmosphere. Today, the atmosphere contains more greenhouse gas molecules than before the Industrial Revolution. The increased concentrations of greenhouse gases, have risen the internal temperature of Earth. Rapid warming like we see today is unusual, though the planet has cooled and warmed throughout the history for various reasons.

Volcanic eruptions create a natural effect on climate, resulting in change of solar energy. Eruptions affect climate, because volcanoes spew out more than just lava and ash. Volcanoes release tiny particles sulfur dioxide into the atmosphere. These particles get into the stratosphere and reflect solar radiation back out to space. Snow and ice also have a great effect on climate. When snow and ice melts Earth’s climate warms, less energy is reflected and this causes more warming. There are many ways that animals, life and other elements on our planet can affect climate. Some can produce greenhouse gases that trap heat and aid global warming through the greenhouse effect.

During the night, plants release some carbon dioxide back into the atmosphere. Methane is made while farm animals, such as cattle and sheep digest their food. Different transportations can affect climate by releasing carbon dioxide when fossil fuels are carbonized to power them.

When wildfires happen, carbon dioxide is exposed into our airspace. However, if a forest of similar size grows again, about the same measure of carbon that was added to the atmosphere throughout the fire will be sequestered. Some effects that scientists have predicted in the past would result when global change was developing: sea ice loss, rising of accelerated sea, and more extreme heat waves. Scientists have trust that global temperatures will continue to rise for decades to come, most definitely because of greenhouse gases manufactured by the people.

The rising of temperature will have great effects on the earth’s climate patterns and on all living things. Physical change, such as melting polar ice caps, sea level rise and violent storms, as indicators of global climate change can result in animals and plants migrating to escape the heat or cold, but in many cases suitable habitat becomes scarce or unavailable farther away from the species’ natural range.

Even though some people may not believe climate change is real, it’s a fact that Earth is getting warmer. People and ecosystems face growing risks to their health and safety. Rising sea levels, strong storms, and deadly heat waves may seem scary and hard to stop. There are thousands of people around the world who are seeking action against climate change and are working hard to have a healthy planet and healthy people.

An important manner to save our planet is to understand the issues and facts about climate change, and the impact it has on the world. For example, World leaders in 195 countries have signed an agreement to a global action plan to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide put into the atmosphere. They have succeeded in reducing damage to the ozone layer from the use of chlorofluorocarbons. Also, inventors and engineers are creating cars that don’t need fossil fuels. Furthermore, the transportation industry is encouraging people to give up their cars and use buses, trains, bicycles and even walk to work. Nonprofit Organization groups inform to bring about change in government plans and actions and act as guardians of the planet.

Other activities that people could do are turn off the lights and electronics when you’re not using them, and grow your own fruits and vegetables. By growing your own fruit and vegetable garden, you are helping to reduce the high amount of burning fossil fuels as a direct result of importing foods. And also reducing waste from food packaging materials such as man-made plastics and cardboard that travel thousands of miles to the grocery stores. Planting trees is important, they consume carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, reducing the amount of carbon dioxide levels in the environment. Also, by planting trees, they become a natural habitat for animals, birds and other endangered species. and recycle.

Climate Change is a big problem and it has become a shared responsibility. From energy companies to world leaders, to individuals in society to help solve the problem. Energy companies are making changes in their reduction of carbon emissions. Consumers will need to reduce their use of carbon-based products and Governments will need to implement nation-wide policies.

The significance of this essay is to show people how atrocious global warming can be if we don’t try and take part to make better actions. If the earth’s temperature keeps on continuing to rise, all living creatures on this earth can go extinct because of high temperatures. This world would be a lot safer if we people can just stop polluting our oceans, building up greenhouse gas emissions, and other more things that can bring the earth’s temperature up and destroy the earth. Let us all come together and save our planet earth.
