Throughout history, growing numbers of population had its good and mostly bad effects. Overpopulation slowly demonstrates its consequences so no one really notices until it’s too late. Overpopulation is a problem because it leads to the depletion of natural resources, social effects, and the increase of habitat loss. If I were president, I would put my ideas in actions to benefit the world, The increase amount of people will lead to a decrease in natural resources. According to the global outlook for water resources to the year 2025, “it is estimated that by 2025, more than half of the world population will be facing water based vulnerability” (everything connectorg). The human body is more than 60% water; the consumption of water is a necessity to maintain bodily fluids “Everyday, 25,000 people die of malnutrition and hunger related disease”.

Humans can only go so long without eating; it’s a necessity. If the earth runs out of vegetables or livestock, casualties will increase. Natural resources are depleted faster than they can be replenished Overpopulation socially effect the people of the world. According to a recent study from U,C. Irvine, “found that less densely packed people are friendlier toward their neighbors”. Because of overcrowding, people lose more patience. Unusual social behavior leads to conflicts like bumping into someone in a crowded hallway. “In America, people spend an average of 55 workdays (2200 hours) per year stuck in traffic” (howmanyorg), More people equals more jobs which equals more cars, adding up to grand total of time wasted. Jobs and money are lost sitting in traffic every morning, Overpopulation is not only disruptive in a person‘s everyday life but also life-threatening.

City people, especially major corporations, don‘t realize how much overpopulation increases habitat loss. “Human production is a major driving force behind the lost of ecosystems, such as rainforest, coral reefs, wetlands, and Arctic ice”. With the loss of habitats, the loss of species is included; extinction. The food chain break up will affect the human population sooner or later, Humans are responsible for the amount of extinctions of animals; the same magnitude 60 million years ago when the dinosaurs became extinct. Humans are taking over the homes of innocent species; reducing species diversity. Zoos and aquariums will have one type of species some day, The impact of overpopulation is too heavy for the earth. The depletion of natural resources, social effects, and the increase of habitat loss are reasons why overpopulation is a problem, Humans will run-down the earth and die off like all the things that they killed off.

There is no way to stop population growth, but there are methods to slow it down and its effects on the environment Some methods include; government investment of birth control and or sexual education, ending the policy of rewards for the number of kids people have, and minimizing human consumption to protect the environment. To be flat out, most humans are not intelligent and do certain acts that they don’t think ahead about. A method to solve this is by, “Provide universal access to safe and effective contraceptive options for both sexes”. The use and low cost of birth control can prevent many unwanted pregnancies. As long as people are smart enough to use protection or “think ahead” contraceptives, population growth will slow down. Another method is, to “Offer age-appropriate sexuality education for all students” (everythingconnects.org). Humans are brick walls when it comes to lectures or moralst.

The only way to really persuade humans to listen is to put them through the consequences of not planning ahead. Humans need to calm their hormones and think before the act, unless they want to become parents the next nine months. The current generations of teens probably do not understand the government policy of rewarding the numbers of kids one set of family has but they should learn because that policy needs to be deleted from the face of the earth Basically the government needs to, ”End all policies that reward parents financially based on the number of children they have.” (everythingconnectsrorg) Not only does this give country money to useless people, this takes away money from those who are working and paying taxes. If it is that easy to make money, everyone will be popping kids and quitting their jobs If this policy were to be deleted, more money will go back into the pockets of working people and the population will slow down. Human consumption has always been an issue the world faces mostly overpopulated areas of the world, “Natural habitats are removed to make room for communities, usually with inefficient or irresponsible planning”.

The more land taken by humans the less for the plants and animals we all run out If the innocent plants and animals were to disappear, humans would only live for so long. A method to control consumption is by, “better public transit, electric cars, rail, and city planning etc to replace heavy commutes, fossil fuels, air travel and unwalkable communities“. Using electric methods of travel instead of gas will decrease air pollution By having planned constructions of public transportation can preserve plant and animal habitats. This won’t stop the growth but it will keep the world going with the amount of people on it. The process of overpopulation will never be stopped but the least we can do it slow it down, Earth can only provide so much for humans until it dies out like most things it has inhabitant Educate people in order to save the earth.
