My insightful vision is basically based on a limitless passion. Before the students, I do everything to show my love of the language being taught. I want to share my passion for language in general. While the chief goal of any pedagogy is merely the transmission of knowledge and skills, pleasure seems to me to be the most effective strategy.

There is of course the pleasure of the teacher, that is, the one he allows himself by choosing the classroom activities or tasks that inspire him more, but also the one who manages to arouse the curiosity of his students. In order to create, maintain or use it wisely, the teacher should be familiar with the learners through building up a strong rapport with his students.

A good teacher, to my mind, is constantly listening to the interests and needs of his students; he seeks to strike a balance between their particular demands and the requirements of the subject, the institution and society. Learning from students is a key element of my teaching activity: I remain continuously sensitive to students’ ideas about what the ideal teacher or teaching should be and, as much as possible, I keep abreast of development in the field. To ensure the greatest possible efficiency in the transmission of knowledge and skills development, my lessons are well-structured, lively and dynamic. I always use different media of communication such as presentations assisted by the computer, visual aids, movies, in addition to miscellaneous teaching techniques such as workshops, presentations, debates, round tables, individual or team work activities, I vary my methodology as much as I can. It is unquestionable that communicative language courses entail the participation of students and the discretion of the teacher. A teacher should be able to step aside to leave all the floor for the teaching act: patience, silence and wisdom sometimes do more for learning than the most animated delivery. A good balance between different approaches (communicative, learner-centered, task-based, content-based) ensures the development of each of the four major skills (reading, listening, speaking and writing).

My instructions are clear and detailed. In general, I am known for my great tolerance and patience. My students can reach me constantly via email. I advise them that they can join me seven days a week, and in eleven years of high school teaching, I have never had to repent of this dedication.The high school audience is made up of aspiring youths and I feel lucky and privileged by my status as a teacher.

Teaching as an art can be defined as the capability to inspire students with the most effective of themselves by giving them the most effective of ourselves. It takes a lot of time and sometimes a small amount of luck to create a welcoming atmosphere that motivates students to become self-dependent and to participate actively within the learning process.

It’s necessary to become the spark that enables the learners to surpass themselves, to equip them with the tools of building up their own autonomy so that they can become responsible agents and accomplished learners who can rework their knowledge into action.
