A stereotype can be defined as conforming to a fixed pattern. Gender stereotypes therefore refer to an individual male or female specific roles or characteristics. Society has already conformed to these stereotypes to a point they are taken to be the norm. Those who fail to conform to these stereotypes are seen as being awkward. In matters of colors, boys are made to love blue and green while girls on the other hand girls love pink and red. This has been believed to be the case all along.
