An individual can acquire citizenship by birth, duties and the associated benefits. Therefore, citizenship forms the basis of fundamental rights derived from the constitution and is commonly referred to as the right to universal human rights. Citizenship is generally divided into two distinct types including either birthright or naturalization. Under birthright citizenship, an individual is defined as a U.S citizen if they were born within the boundaries or born beyond the borders to US citizens. Under naturalization, an eligible legal immigrant applies and is accepted for registration. This paper thus determines the functions of citizen participation and the representation functions and how an individual attain citizenship in the newly formed island Blue Ivy.

The kind of privileges only citizens of Blue Ivy can receive include the political rights in which they can elect office and are also free to vote as they are eligible. They might be citizens by birth hence become automatically eligible to voting, even they might be citizens through naturalization, and that earns they are legal migrants who have to fulfil all the requirements for citizenship hence become eligible voters, unlike noncitizens.

Additionally, citizens have travel rights as they can enter and leave the country as they please. Locke &Gough (27) also highlights the idea of natural law and natural rights in which individuals have the rights to basic need needs such as food and even right to own land hence the need for fair representation to advocate for these rights. There are possibilities that the government can violate an individual’s property rights by introducing high taxes (Locke &Gough 140). It is thus essential that Blue Ivy constitution consider areas where such violation can arise from and block all the loopholes for the citizens to enjoy their rights.

In as much as citizens have voting privileges. It is important not to ignore the fact that some citizens prefer not to vote and that is also a be a way of voting. It enables the citizens to not vote for a candidate that they do not prefer. Also, some do not prefer to vote since they have not realized any significant difference in the past. According to Gutting (2016), only one voter in 60 million has a chance to decide the race; voting rights thus does not have an impact if only one person does not vote, the problem arises where many people do not vote hence affects the choice of candidate.

However, democracy voting is not an individual choice but communal accordingly the vote of one person contributes to the whole political community. A person may find privilege in joining a group of other voters as the person can express solidarity with everyone in support of a candidate who has the potential of improving the welfare of that community. Others may feel motivated to vote, and there is also a feeling of personal satisfaction that is a result of the voting process. Hence the Blue Ivy citizens will be satisfied with this consideration. It is a way of inclusivity for those who prefer to vote and not vote.

For an individual to secure Blue Ivy Citizenship, they must participate in the democratic process which is by exercising their voting rights since democracy voting is communal (Gutting, 2016). Citizens have sovereign powers that unit them as voters hence each vote counts for the change to take place. Individuals must also participate in their local community, and this also involves the political community participation in support for a change process through a specific leader or an issue to address. Furthermore (Hammar 142) acknowledges that an individual can still participate on political interests, elections, and resocialization of the immigrants.

Citizenship by birthright has been accustomed to most nations hence any individual born within or beyond the boundaries of Blue Ivy islands attains citizenship. Birthrights citizenship can be lost only if Blue Ivy island citizen decides to renounce his or her citizenship after acquiring citizenship of another country as the island does not permit dual citizenship. Unlike the American constitution that grants dual citizenship and an individual can willingly renounce their citizenship.

An adult person can attain citizenship through naturalization. An eligible legal immigrant applies and is accepted for registration. Naturalized citizenship bounds an individual with a sense of responsibilities and the willingness to serve Blue Ivy islands in all positions as per the individual’s capability and skills.

Regardless of how an individual earned citizenship, they can still maintain their citizenship. For example, an individual who acquired citizenship by birth remains to be citizens unless they acquire citizenship of another country hence renounce the former. They must also ensure that they do not run for a public office in the foreign countries or serve in the military of the foreign countries. As long as naturalized individuals continue to serve Blue Ivy islands diligently, they will maintain their citizenship.

Just like most government historically had regulations and requirements for citizens that were governed by the parameters such as age, gender, military service, family lineage among others. The Starship Troopers movie also reveals those moments in history in matters such as society ways, religion, and cultural elements. Through these elements, Starship Troopers attempt to define who should be able to participate and the characteristics of a good citizen. More so, the film seeks to differentiate the military system of government and regime type of government.

Conventionally, military leadership is conceptualized as an authoritarian regime with power resting on a few individuals. Blue Ivy’s Constitution will not grant citizenship representation based on the listed parameters but will consider the citizenship by birth of naturalization as they seem to be ethical and appealing to everyone. Furthermore, Rawls (1999) mentions the need for equality in the assignment of primary rights and duties. There is also a need to address social and economic that result in the compensation of every member of the society hence equal representation will be appropriate for Blue Ivy Island.

As mentioned by (Gutting, 2016), the rich people and corporation greatly determine the government operations as evident in the policy implementations that some lack positive outcome. Hence, in any case, they can efficiently act as the representatives. The minimum qualifications for the representatives include being over 25 years of age citizen by birth or through naturalization for like seven years before being elected and a resident of the represented state. Another desirable qualification is someone who can be a mentor to others and upholds ethical standards. The representatives lose their roles through re-election in which they present their manifestos for the public, and if any chances the people do not vote them in, they lose their positions.
