For most people, traveling is a escape from their struggles of their everyday life. Through stories, pictures and videos, we help fulfill the urge to travel to new places. Traveling teaches you so many things through cultural and personal experiences that encourage you to view life in a new way. Traveling is a two-way learning process, through absorbing, experiencing, reacting, and sharing their experiences people get to view the word with a new point of view. “Upon return, these folks sagely insisted that “You’re not having a real experience until you stay where you have to take a second shower just to clean off what the first shower sprayed on you.”

On the cavalcade of Europe’s treasures they shared equally unrewarding homilies: “I had no idea what I was seeing at [fill in the museum] but I figured one day I would read about it in a book and say “Wow, I went there!”” (Jedeikin) When traveling by yourself, you learn more about yourself than you ever could’ve thought. Traveling is an extraordinary experience every person needs to experience; it shows you a whole new world and reveals your inner strengths.

“Who are you really? Some of us will spend a lifetime figuring this out. Others are too afraid to know, preferring to let others tell them who they are and living life by default, and some, possibly like you and me, use rich experiences like travel to understand the most important person in your world.” (Caz) Self-discovery is the act or process of achieving one’s self knowledge. Sometimes being alone is all you need.

We are so busy that we forget who we are, or most of us don’t even know who we truly are yet. Yet, we do know what we want and how we are going to get it. Being lonely opens up new doors and opportunities for you to try and figure out who you are. We start to like ourselves and find our inner peace. That’s what we search for to achieve for a blissful life.

When traveling alone, your outlook on traveling the world changes completely. When you travel alone it will be awkward at first, then you will begin to notice the pros and cons relating to your character, You will fall more in love with your own company. Sometimes you’ll spend your whole day relaxing at the beach and wonder where your time had gone.

“Travel is more than the outward stories they tell, stories which give you a chance to experience these destinations through the lens of their own eyes. That visual and written representation of what they discover on their travels is just one half of the story. One of the most intriguing stories about their journeys actually takes place inside themselves, their journey of self-discovery through their travels.”(Linder)

Traveling is spiritual it takes you from the messy structure of the world we live in. This habit of traveling becomes the routine of your life when do it often. People usually make plans with their friends, office companion or with their family members. That is also great but it won’t give you the experience that you will receive during your solo trip.

All you have to do is pack your bag and leave. That is it. Catch a plane, train or the bus and escape from the world. Solo traveling will lead you to your true destiny and guide you to cherish the meaning of life. You will come across while traveling solo these few things that you going to enjoy. Travel as therapy is experienced by most travelers.

Travel is a wonderful time to meditate because you don’t need to rush anywhere afterward. Normally when meditating you have to do it early before you go to work or school. You can go into a deeper state of meditation knowing you don’t have to be anywhere or have any other obligations. You can experiment with meditating for a longer period of time and probably go to sleep afterwards.

Meditation feels natural when flying or traveling. When you’re driving, you can be very present and aware by noticing the scenery around you, the colors of the cars passing you, and the different license plates. Not only does this type of mindfulness help you feel connected with nature, but it also allows you to be very alert and drive safer. You might even find you enjoyed the journey because it allowed you to have some time with yourself.

“Finding self-fulfillment focuses on wellness and cultural immersion.” (Jen) The concept of stretching comfort zones is becoming cliché. And it’s typically just something people say to keep themselves from actually doing any real stretching, but it’s still really important we do so. Stretching comfort zones isn’t supposed to be comfortable. It’s supposed to be challenging. There is pain involved, but it’s more like a beneficial stress. If you’re not being challenged, then you’re probably not stretching yourself enough. Time to do some stretching. Perhaps some traveling is in order.

“Traveling alone helps you fall in love with your own company.” (Barroso) As humans, we need solitude. In our crazy, busy, online based world, solo travel is how to find it. We need it to understand who we are when no one’s looking, when we aren’t worrying about what people say behind the screen. Thanks to our smartphones it can be difficult to be alone even when we actually are.

Many of us use our phones standing at a bus stop, in line for coffee, waiting for a friend, or even at family gatherings: any time that there are a few minutes not consumed by something important. Before the internet and smartphones, solitude was normal. There were many occasions every day when one would sit and read, or simply stand and watch. There’s something to be said for solitude especially when traveling. If you’re constantly on the go, rushing around, playing tourist, you don’t have time to process the sights, experiences, and the feelings generated by travel.

You don’t have time to just sit and notice the little details of a place. Even as a solo traveler, it’s not hard to be surrounded by people or meet new friends while traveling. After a suitable amount of alone time, you can re-enter the world completely recharged and a new appreciation for the liveliness of the city.

Another thing that can help you travel without the actual expenses of the trip itself is reading. There’s nothing like sitting down with a good book. While the hobby is plenty entertaining, scientists and doctors have observed several positive effects from reading. Books inspire creativity, critical thinking, and increases empathy. It makes us more empathetic.

Literary fiction readers have a higher ability to empathize with others emotions han those who read mainly nonfiction. In other words, fiction readers can be more empathetic, and have an easier time seeing a situation from various perspectives, just by reading about their favorite characters. Reading (along with puzzles and certain games) keeps your activity levels high and your brain power nice and strong. We become less stressed when we read regularly. When you make a habit of reading, it’s easier for your brain to relax and temporarily transport itself to another world.

If you’re looking for an easy way to relax and destress, try to make a habit out of reading more often. Reading jolts your brain into action, maintains concentration, and allows your mind to process the events happening before you. The more you read and engage that part of your brain, the easier it is to keep your memory strong.

Traveling has many advantages. We can experience many different things and learn to improve ourselves through traveling. It is a great way to escape our daily life to enjoy ourselves for sometime. “Travel and self-discovery go hand in hand. By teaching us our likes & dislikes and our strengths & weaknesses, travel helps us discover who we are.” Traveling is a two-way learning process. You absorb, you experience, you react, and you share. When traveling by yourself, this process intensifies. Why? Because you learn more about yourself than you ever imagined. Traveling is an extraordinary experience every person needs; it shows you a whole new world and reveals your inner strengths.
