According to Peters, “It will change your life. You’ll come back a new person.” The author is describing what it feels like to travel in foreign countries. Traveling abroad is a unique experience for people of all ages. It has several effects on an individual that could change his/her life completely. Traveling makes people feel free and enables them to communicate with humans who have different beliefs. Each day brings a new lesson, helps an individual to rely on their selves, and makes a person experience several challenges. Human beings should travel abroad to receive better education, to have self-reliance, and to gain new experiences.

To begin with, traveling abroad helps people receive better education in several ways. Traveling in foreign countries enables mankind to receive a higher degree. For instance, by applying in a study abroad program, individuals will have the chance to observe a side of their major that they haven’t been introduced to at home. Getting a high degree abroad benefits learners since it will increase their career opportunities.

In addition, traveling is an opportunity to learn a second language and be immersed with the culture itself. Discovering a new language helps folks to understand a different culture throughout its vocabulary, idioms, expressions and other features. Also, when learning a new language, they can meet new people and understand their local language; therefore, it boosts their confidence and they can easily interact.

Second, individuals will learn to be self-reliant when traveling in foreign countries. Traveling will help people of all ages to rely on themselves. For example, at a certain point in life, people will spend more money on their needs until they face financial hardships. When traveling abroad, individuals will learn to be more protective with how they spend their budget effectively. In addition, they will be able to make their own money rather than depending on others to transfer their fees. Also, traveling will help folks to learn to do their own household chores such as laundry, cleaning, and cooking.

Last, people can take in new experiences when traveling to a foreign country. Traveling abroad is the best method to step outside one’s established comfort zone. People can gain new experiences such as volunteering, tasting well-known local foods, and discovering new lifestyles. For instance, people can join relief/emergency programs. The work centralizes on emergency cases in which projects are typically done on a short period. Volunteering for emergency programs focuses on primary needs such as the supply of food, water, hygiene, medicine and shelter. Volunteering teaches a person traveling abroad to know the value of his/her life, and it spreads humanity. Another example, when traveling to India, a person gets to discover their festivals, music, architecture, and popular cuisine that include spices and savories.

In brief, people must travel in foreign countries to obtain better education, to have self-reliance, and to discover new experiences. Traveling is suitable for everyone, because they can get a higher degree and learn a second language. Also, it helps individuals to learn to rely more on themselves. Furthermore, mankind of all ages will have the chance to find out new experiences and get out of their daily routine. The best recommendation to those who are planning on traveling abroad is to meet people with different culture. It’ll absolutely make their time abroad more enjoyable and beneficial.
