My name is, Victoria Mala Sookhiram. I am majoring in Business Administration. I chose this major with the goal of one day opening my own business. I have always wanted to be my own boss and open my own business. I think that having my degree in Business will open many different doors of opportunity for me. My Personal Mission Statement is strive to be the best that you can be follow your heart and never let anything or anyone stop you from getting to be where you want to be.

I have experience in working in the Restaurant Industry as well as Clerical and Sales positions. I have been a Waitress, Sales Representative, and Secretary. I am currently working in an Insurance Brokers office. As well as working on getting my license in Real Estate. I work full time 9-5 and attend classes full time in the evening. I use my spare time on the weekend to work on my Real Estate License. I have a lot of opportunity for growth within my company as well as in Real Estate. I am very focused and open to learning as much as i can in both of these fields. My goal is save as much money as possible while I am working on my degree and use the money i save to invest in my own business.

The SWOT analysis was very useful for me and helped me to take time to stop and realize things that I didn’t put too much thought into on my own. I am very good at multi tasking. I am able to handle multiple things at one time while staying focused. I am able to learn things quickly. Once I am taught something I have no problem retaining the information. I have a very strong work ethic. I complete each and every task I complete to my best ability.I am good at prioritizing my tasks and managing my time accordingly. Often put things I am not confident in myself in off until the last minute. This causes a lot of stress for me. I sometimes under estimate my self. As far as second guessing if things i have done are good enough. I always have a lot of different ideas and visions on how i want to complete a task and being able to narrow them down or combine my different ideas together into one finished product is sometimes difficult for me to do.

My College success is my main focus at this point anything that i see as a threat I will work around. School is my first priority. Luckily I am able to take my classes in the evening and continue to work my full time job during the day. Also I am grateful for public transportation and it’s convince to be able to get where i need to be quickly. I am not going to let anything get in the way in me succeeding in my degree. I have a very supportive family. My Father is very intelligent and has great insight and advise for me. My Aunt is very supportive and successful and is willing to help me as far as advise and encouragement. There are many different resources at LaGuardia Community College for me to take advantage of that will help me in my graduating. As far as labs and tutors as well as advise from my professors and fellow class mates.

I have two different career paths that are available to me that i am currently taking advantage of. These two potions offer room for growth within the company. Focusing on your own strengths and weaknesses is much harder than noticing someone else. A few of my strengths are I am good at Multi Tasking I am able to handle multiple things at one time while staying focused. I am a Fast Learner because I am able to learn things quickly. Once I am taught something I have no problem retaining the information. Having a Strong Work Ethic is a great strength, I complete each and every task I complete to my best ability.

I also have Good time management skills I am good at prioritizing my tasks and managing my time accordingly. Sometimes it is hard to admit that you have certain weaknesses, a few of mine are, Procrastinating,I often put things off until the last minute and I am not confident in myself.This causes a lot of stress for me. My first career path I’m aiming towards is a Real estate broker, Brokers and sales agents help clients buy, sell, and rent properties. Although brokers and agents do similar work, brokers are licensed to manage their own real estate businesses. Sales agents must work with a real estate broker.Solicit potential clients to buy, sell, and rent properties Advise clients on prices, mortgages, market conditions, and related information Compare properties to determine a competitive market price Generate lists of properties for sale, including details such as location and features Promote properties through advertisements, open houses, and listing services Take prospective buyers or renters to see properties Present purchase offers to sellers for consideration Mediate negotiations between buyer and seller-ensure that all terms of purchase contracts are met Prepare documents, such as loyalty contracts, purchase agreements, and deeds.

Because most brokers are self-employed, they must manage every aspect of their business. This task includes reaching out to prospective clients, handling their finances, and advertising their services.Strong interpersonal skills are essential for real estate brokers and sales agents, because they spend much of their time interacting with clients and customers. To attract and keep clients, they must be pleasant, enthusiastic, and trustworthy.Real estate brokers and sales agents must be able to work independently, managing their own time and organizing, planning, and prioritizing their work.Real estate brokers and sales agents need to be able to quickly (sometimes immediately) address concerns clients or potential customers may have with a property.

They also mediate negotiations between seller and buyer. Brokers and sales agents earn most of their income from commissions on sales. The commission varies by the type of property and its value. Commissions often are divided among the buying agent, selling agent, brokers, and firms. Base pay $56,730 not including commissions.Some real estate brokers and sales agents work in a typical office environment, while others work out of their homes. In both cases, real estate workers spend much of their time away from their desks, showing properties to customers, traveling to see properties for sale, and meeting with prospective clients.Must be 18 years old Have to complete a number of real estate courses and pass the state exam. It is relatively easy to enter the occupation, but getting listings as a broker or an agent depends on the real estate market and overall economic conditions. As the economy expands and more people look to buy homes, job competition may increase as more people obtain their real estate license.

In contrast, although the real estate market declines in an economic downturn, there also tend to be fewer active and licensed real estate agents. Real estate brokers and sales agents must be knowledgeable about the real estate market in their area. To match properties to clients’ needs, they should be familiar with local communities, including knowing the crime information and the proximity to schools and shopping. Brokers and agents also must stay current on financing options; government programs; types of available mortgages; and real estate, zoning, and fair housing laws.

Time management is how you go about spending your time and applying it to what is needed in a well balanced manner. A big part of Time Management is prioritizing and planning. You need to have your daily routine planned out and prioritized and a lot a realistic amount of your time towards each specific task in order to have a productive day. There are always so many things to do with what seems to be so little time! Good time management skills will help in more ways than you can imagine.
