​The American Declaration of Independence is one of the key events in United States history. The event has affected the foundation of the United States more than any other document in the history of the country. The famous line in the declaration of Independence was “we hold these Truths to be self-evident, that all Men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.” The document has had an impact because it was the first kind in history after liberation. I find that the declaration of Independence has been the reason for the economic, social, and political success of the United States.

​I find that the declaration of Independence has served as a guide for the United States to ensure that everyone has the right to liberty and freedom. The freedom of education accorded to me is mainly a result of the declaration of independence, I have the freedom and the right to gaining an education. The declaration of independence also served as the first step to freedom, equality, and the abolition of slavery in the United States. While the United States today still faces challenges of equality where minority groups face problems with inequality, it has moved a big step in ensuring freedom for the minority groups. Those that face inequality and oppression can turn to the declaration of independence which can be used to protect their rights.

​I find that the political success of the United States has been made possible due to the declaration of Independence. The declaration states that it is the duty of the country leaders to protect and serve its citizens. The political leadership of a country is to do good and to serve the citizens. In case a leader fails to do this, the people have the right to take matters to their own hands. This meant that people can take matters into their own hands in case the leaders fail to meet their expectation. This has put leaders in check knowing that they are accountable to its citizens.

​I find the declaration of independence is also the reason for the economic success of the United States. The declaration of the United States set the stage for everyone to have equal opportunity to work and to gain property. According to the declaration of independence, human beings have the right to pursue happiness. Such a pursuit of happiness involves the right for everyone to gain their own property. The advent of equality meant that everyone could get an equally fair share of their earnings from the work. This motivated the entire nation was accorded with the rights to pursue wealth by acquiring wealth and owning property.

​One of the key terms I find in the declaration of independence is that men are accorded with unalienable rights. The meaning of the term “unalienable” is that these are rights which one cannot give up even if they want to. It is different from other rights that one can agree to waive or transfer. The significance is that as long as one is a citizen of the United States, then they have a certain set of rights which cannot be given up. I find that making the rights unalienable is the reason for the success of the declaration of independence several hundred years later. The rights can be considered natural and no one can snatch it or take it away from any of the citizens of the United States.

​In conclusion, the declaration of independence is the foundation which the United States was built through freedom, equality, and justice. The declaration is the reason why the United States succeeds politically, socially, and economically. By making the rights unalienable, it meant that no one could take away the rights from any citizen of the United States. The declaration of independence thus remains relevant today and will continue to be relevant in the far future.
