My connection might be a bit unique, one instance that I have experienced in the last couple of days that I believe to show the value of information was during my Informatics Senior Capstone course. The class is composed of six students, four handpicked by two students (including myself). As we were able to choose a group of individuals that we not only know but cooperate well with, this builds a sense of community amongst us.
Although we were able to pick the other four students, we absolutely had some bias in choosing them. However, in advance we decided to pick a diverse group of knowledge and understanding within the field. This allowed us the other day to have a “serious debate”, an argument of our personally experiences from which we will be applying ourselves in the course.
The information essentially was personal and intellectual property being discussed in order to determine who among us was best fit for the specific roles. The true value of the information in this case comes from who was the most confident within their current knowledge of the task at hand. An individual being able to distinguish their own personal ability in the field and the understanding of the project. This allows everyone to recognize their gaps of knowledge on the specific task and to find ways of mending that gap. While being able to talk with the group at anytime to get a wider understanding of what we all think should be the focus, ensuring everyone doesn’t spend all their time running down rabbit holes when researching.

Our research and final product will be valued by not only our professor, but the company in which we are working with. The collection of all our personal experiences and relevant information that we wouldn’t often go out of our way to learn on our own. Is then received and understood by professionals in the field, from whom can give insightful critiques to continue and further our classes education and understanding prior to graduating.
Our final product is valued by the company as we are merely college students, from which the business does not have to pay for the mass amount of work that will be received. However, the company puts a lot of trust into us as our final product if plagiarized or incorrect could cause the business to face legal, social, or even economic problems. Essentially the company has a large interest in our product, making us the creators ensure we keep all parties safe by understanding even the simplest rules of citations.
To my current knowledge there isn’t anyone opposed to our research and would be against the final product. Although criticism is likely, however it is essential in learning. Personally, I never take criticism lightly, constantly I’m taking in people’s insightful comments to help further myself in life.
