After the lesson on topic ‘violence’ during class last week, I dive into this topic a little more. It is a topic of discussion on newspapers and websites almost everyday.According to me, man is essentially a peace loving entity, but greed, passion,misguidance leads a person to adopt this kind of behaviour. Every country in the world is facing some kind of violence or the other.
To restrict it, politics is the best way. I regard education is important to prevent violence. I remember the article, ’’Six victims in six months”. This has crossed all the borders and become all too familiar in Canadian cities In order to deal with such kind of unusual behaviour we need to educate our youth. As a result, many schools and institutions provide training and education for it. In addition to it, there are various political organisations that includes band, tribal, state organisation and Chiefdom. Moreover, we are introduced with various patterns of violence and wars.
After that, a short film ‘Man who studies murder’ was displayed. It is an investigation into career of Elliot Leyton, who was anthropologists who looks into the subject of why people kill each other. His story become mystery itself as he investigates many cases. it also reveals his lifework,wisdom and humour. He compares three of the world’s significant murder cultures: Canada,US and Britain. Furthermore, he compared all the countries with different aspects of the crime rate. Although, it comes with no background notes, but those who watch it will be stimulated to ask many questions and do more research.
Summing up, it is obvious that violence occurs due to many reasons. However, it is urgent that some measures should be taken to limit the violence. According to psychologists violent behaviour is inherent but can be managed. Providing a healthy and coordinating environment to kids helps them to adopt good values and react less violently. On the whole, I find this topic really interesting because I enjoy this genre of topics since my childhood as well as, it provides us awareness about activities going around the world.
