The Declaration of Independence was passed and was made part of the country as of July 4, 1776. In signing the formal document and setting it forth to make the future of the nation set and stone the creators and the signers of this document include the Continental Congress and head writer Thomas Jefferson. Informed about the events that have taken place early on, the Continental Congress met multiple times before because they wanted their voices heard and not disregarded. In taking these actions this caused an underlying truth between both sides, both the patriots and the loyalists, King and Queen in fact were all guilty, not just the parliament and loyalists.
After the French and Indian war was over, Britain got themselves into great debt. A debt that amounted to over 15 million as of today. In some form they had to even out the debt amongst the colonies, so acts were made such as the following: Intolerable act, Quartering act, Stamp act and many more. These acts were in fact set due to the acts that had come before. The colonies started the uproar which started the French and Indian war, but they could not fight them on their own so the british had to ship in Englishman to help fight it for them. After the war was over with the victory in Britain’s hands, also came great payback. Britain was consumed like no other so they started to tax and the parliament started to pass acts for the colonies.
The colonies now we’re paying all the taxes to get rid of the overlying debt that was held over Britain’s head. The colonists thought this was very unfair as well as they had thought that they should have had a say so in what was being done because they all as a whole thought they didn’t have a voice. When everything was said and done, the colonists went and met as a Continental congress with 13 of the colonies participating and wanting to take action. In doing so, other residing actions were yet to come. The boston massacre was not too long after the meeting of the colonies, 5 colonists were shot after throwing snowballs at authorities. The authorities then opened fire into the crowd of colonists and left them with 5 people dead.

While this was not a event that we would normally consider to be a massacre but it was back then. Leading up to the making of the declaration of Independence the Continental congress was set to meet again and this was the time when the colonists thought they had more of a voice. This leading to the document being made that was greatly known for shaping our nation that is still around today. The declaration of Independence was written by the head man who went by the name of Thomas Jefferson. He and some of the other members of the colonies joined in and used their ideas to create and establish this document. The document has stated that america is all about freedom and equality above all.
The main reason behind this document being wrote was to show the reasons why the colonists wanted to separate from britain and their reasoning for their revolt. While this was being written up by Thomas and his men followed, the Revolutionary war had already begun and damage was being done (Editors 2009). The document had been signed July 4, 1776 and this was a very big turning point for the colonists and for the future of the nation. Since July 4, 1776 America has celebrated this as a national holiday of freedom and honor.
A day designated to all the American citizens and their rights and their freedom living in the country of the United States. America has lived and has enforced and struck by the declaration of independence for all this time, some have even said for this to be the birthday for America (ushistory.org 1942). America holds the ideals of this sacred document by selecting a president elected by the people. The US citizens elect the president based on the debates against other runners in the election and who they think is the best fit for running the country and making America the way it was supposed to be according to the Declaration of Independence. Every documented citizen has their very own rights and liberties while living in the US, this is set in place and the remembrance of this document is still held true by making every man and women equal in the united states.
Although, racial issues have arose throughout the years on and off, every man has the same liberties than before. Unlike other countries where their government has control of everyone’s rights and their liberties it is unlike the US where the government and the people have the same rights. The declaration of Independence is called the blueprint for the United states government. The government that we have now is called Federal Government which is a system that is divided between the state government and the federal government.
As of today the government have passed laws that have stayed true to the declaration of independence and holds the freedom true for everyone in the USA. Each one of the government officials do everything in their power to defend the United States and hold the Declaration of Independence on a gold podium in front of everyone. The 4 ideals from this document was the following, equality above all, rights for all the Us documented citizens, and the right to change and destroy the government. In this case the document was made because the people wanted to have the voice and they wanted to have the choices in the decisions being made, so they made an official document making sure that it stayed this way through the years.
It has stayed this way because like stated before the people that are populating the united states have the right to change the way that the government is and they can get rid of any of the presidents at any time. The government is only up to the people, which the government is doing all their law passing and their decisions in the white house based on the beliefs and the voices of their documented citizens.
In summation, the Declaration of independence has made its way to shaping up the nation and still holds the ideals true to this day making sure that the citizens have the same rights and the same voice as the people set up in the branches of government systems and their decisions. The ideas of the colonists and Thomas Jefferson have made its way into this world as we know it today, the ideals are still held highly in today’s government and they respect the voices of the people and hold everyone’s rights equally and fairly.
