How does a worldview affect a lifestyle? Everyone has a different way of perceiving the world that influences, not only their beliefs but the decisions they make. However, there is no right or wrong answer as it is all just different ways of thinking. In my worldview, I believe I was created for a specific purpose and to live the way I do. I do believe that God exists. God is our Father and is the creator of all things. He is the reason I wake up every morning to live another day. He has blessed me with this wonderful life that I get to cherish each day.
Not only do I believe in God, I believe he has put me on this Earth to become influenced by human nature. The belief of human nature has helped me understand why people are the way they are and how they react to certain scenarios. Everyone reacts differently and I feel this happens because each person has their own morals and worldviews on how they are supposed to be. With all that being said, I am proud of the person my morals and beliefs have made me into becoming today.
To start off, the worldview I have on the belief of God affects my personality and how I treat others around me. How? As stated in the Bible, “Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you”(Ephesians 4:32). With that being said, I believe in the saying “treat others the way you want to be treated. I also do not believe in holding grudges; everybody makes mistakes so forgiveness should always be accepted.
Not only does my belief in God affect my personality, it also has influence my life dramatically as I was inherited very young through my parents. Both of my parents were baptized young and grew up in a very religious family, strictly following their beliefs and going to church every Sunday. This carried over when they had their first child, me, and I was baptized at five months old.
However, as I grew up, the belief did not disappear but the idea of going to church every Sunday did not become a priority as we became busy with all the sports my brothers and I played and all the vacations we took. As we decide to go to church when we can, the beliefs and prayers stay with me each day and truly impact my everyday life with decision making and behavior. I plan to practice the belief of God with my children as I would like them to know that they are not alone.
To carry over, the belief of God and the inheritage I have grown up with makes it is easy to open up about other opinions and perspectives because sometimes I do not completely agree with what the Bible has to say or the things my parents have told me what to believe. As I have gotten older and matured, I have become more aware of the decisions I want to make on my own away from the morals of God and what my parents practice. I have learned to not only accept that other people will not always have the same beliefs as me, but to also endure the fact that I won’t always agree with my worldviews and am open to hearing different perspectives.
Overall, a worldview is going to be different for everybody and that’s what makes us all unique. The things we do and the way we act is all because of the different morals we all have that leads us to making different decisions. Personally, my worldviews of believing in God and Human Nature has helped me find myself and shape me into the person I am today.
