There are many lessons that people learn in class and in my experience, I have acquired a lot in course about team management and managerial decision-making. The most important things that I have discovered are about how to handle conflict that occurs in a team, team leader management and the ways to ensure team productivity. Handling conflict in an organization is crucial to the success of the organization, and therefore leaders need to know the various ways to handle disputes that can occur in a team. Team leaders also need to know the different ways that they can manage teams to ensure that they can meet the objectives of the organization. Team productivity is also a crucial aspect that I was able to learn, and therefore a manager should be able to know how to assess team productivity and ensure that the team performs its duties (Tohidi, 2011).
Based on the course content, I have been able to acquire new skills from the class. One of the skills that I have been able to obtain is conflict management. In an organization, there is a likelihood of conflict occurring which can jeopardize the success of the organization. Conflict management skills are crucial in handling disputes that might arise in the workplace and therefore will come in handy. The other ability that I been able to acquire is team management skills. I have learned a lot about the various ways to manage teams.
Team management requires a person to understand all the issues that have to do with teams such as sources of conflict, the formation of groups and finding solutions to the problems that might arise in an organization. According to Sung, & Choi (2012), team management skills enable a person to become better at managing people as a person understands all the dynamics of a team. The new abilities are relevant to my profession in that I now able to come up with solutions that can occur in the workplace. The skills can also apply to my work not only in work setting but also when dealing with open teams.

The way that I would apply my new knowledge would be first to help me advance in my career as I understand many things that have to do with the leadership. The other application would be to help other people that face problems and therefore provide them with solutions to the issues that they might encounter. New skills present a person with the ability to achieve greater things (De Meuse, Dai, & Wu, 2011).
In conclusion, I have thoroughly enjoyed my time in the class. I have gained many insights that are going to be crucial to my life and the things that I planned to do. I am delighted to have taken the class as I have gained knowledge that I would not have been able to acquire I had not enrolled the course.
