To take notice of came during the nineteenth century. The Industrial Revolution was a lead in a new era. This new era involved three many questions. These questions were on the realms of such as the area of our lives, the possibility of caring for other things, and community effort to produce a positive outcome in this new era. This new revolution had an immediate growth for all European countries at the time. The growth was in economics. Sadly during this era of time, the care for workers was absent. Because of this unfortunate circumstance, this caused enormity for the small respect for the people in the working class. This put a heavy pressure on their families. Luckily, there were two guys during this era, who became famous throughout history, who both tried to help these issues. The first guy name was Abraham Kuyper, and the second was Karl Marx.
These two influential guys lived during the Industrial Revolution, which was known for the impact of money, production, and most importantly, control. In the European countries, there was an outbreak of continuous issues. The issue of revolution came up, and the Christianity aspects of being compassionate, loving, and sympathetic. These issues were simple, yet complex. The views of Abraham Kuyper were focused on the economic and social problems, during the Industrial Revolution, that were brought to Europe. Capitalism was what made the problem happen. In this economic system, this provided control for private owners over the two things that was keeping the world going, trade and industry. This new economic system basically showed that power is every thing, the strong was able to overwhelm the weak. Because of this, poverty became a huge issue to deal with. No one in this world at the time was equal, and that is something that Kuyper picked up on.
Another thing he picked on, which is surprising was that when peasants began to go up the ladder, they did not look back to the ones who were in their shoes and just simply help out. “This was not because the stronger class was more evil at heart than the weaker, for no sooner did a man from the lower class rise to the top than he in his turn took part just as harshly – yes, even more harshly – in the wicked oppression of those who were members of his own former class”. (Kuyper 26). This is an issue because the world is so routed in the idea of individual success, which they do not often focus on the people around them. The idea of individual success is a learned process that happens all the time, from back then and even today.

Abraham Kuyper saw influence in a book that Karl Marx wrote, Communist Manifesto. The French Revolution back in 1789 had one of the big ‘–isms’ that came out of it. this economic system was called socialism. Out of this, Kuyper argued that this certain economic system was a charge on Christianity. Socialism gave a sight to where God is not the subject. Science and enlightenment were the subject of life. There was a hint of socialism while Kuyper was living. He saw that this new system was not the answer to any problems going on. In socialism, what does it mean to be human? In this system, the idea of individualism vanished, and faith and religion were not concrete enough to answer life questions. Wiping out faith because it was just an unexplainable and rational concept was the goal of Marx and socialism.
Seeing is believe, one thing that is certain though is that God owns all. Kuyper says that, “The truth is this: absolute property belongs only to God; all of our property is on loan from him; our management only stewardship….An absolute community of goods is excluded everywhere in Scripture. However, Scripture excludes just as completely every illusion of a right to dispose of one’s property absolutely, as if one were God, without considering the needs of others”. (Kuyper 60). Kuyper helps us respond to these problems as Christians. His ideas of Christian compassion, love, and sympathy is the answer. The idea of faith cannot be lost cause that is when major problems occur in time. Faith and humans go well together and that should be a common goal for all.
