Studying in abroad is a great privilege and an opportunity given to students in order to complete their higher education successfully. Earlier many students were not given permission by parents to study in abroad due to some problems that students face in another country but during last few years student have been able to solve their problems successfully. By granting that fact many students were aspired by their parents to study in abroad.
However, there are some pros and cons that students must have to be aware of if they are planning to study in abroad. As a student who have been given a scholarship to complete my degree in an abroad university, I have some challenges and some experiences to share with other student who also want to complete their degree in an abroad university.
Most common problem that an international student face in another country is cultural and language problems but this problem wont last for long time. Its very hard to adopt to adopt to a new culture as soon as a student enters to a country. For me it was very hard to hard in first two weeks.
First as a student who came to a new country, I felt lonely because I was bit homesick and didn’t have friends to meet and have a chat but gradually I became friends with my college students in addition to that always I advise international students to be open minded.
Living in abroad doesn’t sound that students have to forget about their culture and valuable qualities, but they must have to respect the culture in respective country because it will helpful to become close with those people furthermore according to researchers done by Durham University associating other international students will make international students easy.
Every international university has got many other international students who are also new to the country if they were supposed to have a friendship with them, they will be able to overcome all problems together as group in addition to that staying in classes will be easy and doing projects with them will be easy.
Studying in abroad is a challenge but not only that. As an international student who went Australia with a scholarship, I was able to make new friends and they didn’t treat me like a stranger to their country but they welcomed me warmly.
As my university was in Adelaide, we used to travel many famous and interesting places in Adelaide such as Adelaide entertainment centre, Adelaide zoo centre and many visiting these places made me easy to understand more about there culture and made me think their artistic thoughts.
