Decision-making process is critical in any business management since it involves making crucial plans on how to make profits. However, it is important to make moral decisions to ensure they are in line with business ethics. Utilitarian lays a foundation identifying between right or wrong action in a given situation. In the situation, the business partner makes a decision with a baseless foundation.

According to Lyon (2015) sound moral judgment is important in making decisions concerning the welfare of an individual and the company. In the scripture, it is important to treat the other person the same way one would like to be treated. The partner does not consider other options and only pulls out from the deal when he becomes aware of the specifics of the church.

Universalism depends on the duties and obligations that govern an individual. Everyone has their own beliefs and they are morally acceptable only if they are consistent with the moral. For example, subjecting the decision to the three tests of the consistency, it can help in determining whether the decision was valid. The partner rejects the church offer based on his own benefit hence branding the action as wrong. The Church was after software and he was not undertaking the action hence has no right to interfere with the software development.

Furthermore, the decision was generated from the owner perspective hence disqualifying it. For example, God is away from us thus it is our duty to use the knowledge and wisdom from Him. In any case, the church accepted the offer and was ready to pay for the services. Accepting the offer means the church was ready to abide by the terms and conditions of the contract.

In addition, from Kant’s religious beliefs, God created a human being and gave them the power to reason and make affirmative decisions. Hence, the human has a role to ensure they put into action the wisdom and knowledge they have from God in a given situation. The partner did not critically analyze the Church but used the instinct which is not the best to rely on especially when handling a complex issue.

The manager has a role to ensure the decision does not affect the consumer and also the business. It is opposing the current scenario where as a manager, does not make logical decisions turning down the client. Hence, it was not right to turn down the offer by relying only on the instinct. There was room to carry out some analysis and make an affirmative decision since God has given human wisdom.
