This phrase goes down under self efficacy theory of Albert Bandura and it is a bridge between behaviorist and constructivist cognitive learning theories. Bandura proposed that learners learn from one another via observation, imitation and modeling. It has three components that are personal, environmental and behavioral. Personal components include cognition (knowledge), expectations and approach. Environmental components include communal norms and access in society. Behavioral include self efficacy, skills and practice. Humans are active information processors and they think about association between behavior and its consequences.

Individuals observe the individuals around them called as observed individual’s models and pay attention to them. Some people program their behavior, imitate the people around the individual and act in response to behavior as reinforcement behavior. Learning occurs through observational mediation processes between stimulus responses as attention, retention, reproduction, motivation. Social learning approach takes thinking processes into account. Self efficacy means trust in one’s capabilities to systematize and accomplish the course of action required to manage forthcoming situations. It is important for teachers and students to know about buried treasure at heart of social cognitive theory. It depends on the flexibility, perseverance, caring effect and tranquility .Whether you think you can or can’t you are usually right. One should be persistent in all aspects of life career, emotional regularities.

If a person does not deem in result he desires through efforts, he/she will have lot of troubles starting / persevering an action whether sports /exam. For example teachers instructional efficacy is believe in his aptitude to teach. It comes from sources like person’s own mastery experiences, sensational experience of observing others perform tasks; person watches similar model, societal persuasions, spoken judgments, constructive appraisals, somatic and emotional states. How confident one feels by interpreting one’s own emotional and physical states as she contemplates on act. By modeling healthy self reflection into self evaluation we can encourage self efficacy and improved internal motivation. Task specific self confidence leads to self efficacy which is a key factor in theories of motivation and learning. Increased self efficacy increases scholastic motivation and triumph. People guide their lives by their beliefs of personal efficacy. It is the core confidence of human functioning. It is not enough to have knowledge and skills to perform a task.

One must have confidence they can effectively execute mandatory behavior in typical and exigent situations. Efficient functioning requires skills and efficacy belief to execute properly. Two components grow jointly as individuals become skilled at two components of successful human functioning and they act upon one another in reciprocal fashion that is reciprocal causation. In self efficacy conviction about one‘s capability does not match actual capability in that field. Individuals might over estimate and increased effort and determination is required during hard times. Individuals make use of their efficacy judgments in reference to some goal (attain designated performances). Self efficacy effects individual’s choice of activities, effort persistence. If decrease self efficacy individual will avoid task, if increase self efficacy individual more likely to participate and put more effort. It is a self limiting process. In difficulties they persist longer. Task specific self efficacy can defeat inevitable obstacles. Signs of susceptibility if overcome there will be greater success. Effect of failures on personal efficacy depends on potency of existing efficacy beliefs.
