Perseverance to me is the determination in a person to not let anything or anyone stop you from obtaining a goal. It is very important that everyone have perseverance because most people would not make it in life without it. It gives you ethics and makes a more stronger and more respectable person out of you.
An unfortunate thing happened to a girl that I know. Even though she had everything going for her which she did not know it that was her biggest obstacle. She tried to fit in with people who were not even really her friends and people viewed her as a person I did not even recognize. She had became pregnant and had to drop out of school. That was another obstacle. She became desperate and she felt like no one cared anything about her. She thought this was the end of her world! This is when her life took a sudden turn. After telling her parents and them sitting through the shock thinking my daughter is pregnant, things started to look up for her. This person was more loved than she realized and other people began to see who this person really was. She realized she had a small person living inside her that needed a happy life and future. Not only that but she also needed to support herself with or without the father.
This person got married which seems to be working out pretty good. She got her G.E.D. and is enrolled in classes at Tri-County. She was able to buy a car and her and her new husband live in their own place. Under the circumstances she still has a long way to go but she is determined and has a goal. She wrote me a letter and apologized about everything and told me that she was very determined to make something out of herself and she is happy.

With a lot of help and prayers from family and friends she has started to turn her life around, This person sees that the importance of her new life and she has a lot of support backing her and she also has a lot to live up to. Inspiration comes in different shapes and sizes and I feel like this person will turn out to be a happy prosperous person. She has also been an inspiration for her new husband to go to school. Who knows what will happen with him but I believe she will not let anything keep her down.
After seeing what this person has went through so far I feel that perseverance is something that is respectful and dignified. If you try hard at anything you can do it! There will be obstacles that get in your way but obstacles make your goal more valuable. Dont tell yourself that you cant do anything because if there is a will there is a way! If things are too easy it is taken for granted.
I never thought too much about perseverance till I wrote this paper. Its like climbing a mountain. Your decisions in what you do can make the mountain easy or hard to climb. But you have to live life and take the good with the bad. When obstacles get in your way, you have to find a way around them. Life is what you make of it. There is no way of getting through life without obstacles and if you are determined you will succeed.
This person still has many obstacles to come in her life and I am proud to be a part of this learning experience not only for her but for me also. I will have my own obstacles but I know where want to go in life and I know that you have to work hard, be honest and believe in yourself. The rest is pudding!
The most prevalent person excluding my parents and who this paper is about is my older sister Heather. I have learned from her that even though these things happen you have to make the best of it, be persistent, and dont give up.
