Human beings are becoming slaves of modern technology, there have been many debates. My view is that humans are becoming slaves of modern technology. The following agrument shows both sides on why humans see their technology as their ‘masters’ with the need of always wanting to be with it, that will be addressed in the following paragraphs.
Slaves are dependent on their ‘masters’ as so are the owners with their technology and always wanting to be with it or on it for their instant gratification of missing out for the number of people that are currently following them and how “popular” they are compared to their celebrity idol. This implies to the desire of unable to live without iwithout it like a slave that has gotten the day of not knowing what to do with it‘ Just because we invented a powerful Technology does not mean we have to become its slaves.’(27th March 2018, Sherry Turkel, How we are becoming slaves of technology) An example of this when one is eating out with your friends or family and everyone is on their phones rather than engaging in a conversation, wanting to be somewhere else instead of being at the current place with their loved ones.
Modern Technology gives us gratification if we feel we are in need of it. It gives us an opportunity to projecting ourselves in a personal drama allowing us to be the main character and everyone else to just revolve around us as we please as Sherry Turkel (27th March 2018, How we are becoming slaves of technology) explains is that we are trying authenticness, but forget about being emphatic to others – therefore benefiting ourselves rather than others, resulting with less communication with people and making it easier to misuse them, for example cyberbullying.

Modern Technology communication modern technology has improved it it enables you to message anyone across the world within seconds. Tim Bernes- Lee states that “there was a time when people felt the internet was another world, but now people realize it is a tool to use in this world.” Meaning we should use technology as a benefits. The companies can now interview people online for example skype. Education purposes like a South African teacher can teach online to someone in China.
The internet of modern technology helps to find new information about things and courses to do online or searching places. Helps to share information with so many people worldwide. Stephen Hawking states “we are all connected by Internat, like neutrons in a giant brain.” Meaning there are many neutrons in the brain as the humans across the world to connect to each other with the internet an example is keeping in touch with loved ones living opposite ends.
Modern technology is making human always wanting to know if people like them, and if they are following their own “personal drama”. In my opionn i feel human beings are becoming slaves of modern technology because we allow it to rule our lives without knowledge of it.
