As a young adult woman, I live by three core values that impact my everyday life. Honor, courage, and commitment are the three essentials that have made me who I am today. They’re a guide I take into account to be triumphant regarding an essential decision making process in the organization of my lifestyle. I never thought words could build my character as woman to becoming a leader, more responsible, and most importantly a better person within myself.

Honor, one word but yet so meaningful, the word is an utter decision in itself. It’s the decision with effort to merit others and ourselves with fidelity. Accordingly, I regulate myself in the highest moral demeanor in all correlations with peers, elders, and minors. I use this core value everyday by keeping good company; I surround myself with honorable people. We aid one another and they allow me to serve as a role model that inspires them to become a better being. Just by my inspiration on other, they retaliate by looking for ways to help their peers grow in honor and nobility. With honor I build stability and with stability I build courage, my second core value.

Courage: being able to “withstand danger, fear, or difficulty” (Merriam Webster). Therefore, I will have courage to meet the demands of my career and the assignment when it is hard to accomplish or otherwise difficult. This core value has helped me through many obstacles in my life, even at times where I wanted to throw in the towel and call it quits. Courage molded me into the person I am today, without it I would be weak. I wouldn’t have the confidence to do anything, not even a simple task as passing a test or answering a question in class knowing I might give a wrong answer. The spirit of courage forced me to become mature and courage without maturity is like a human without a brain. The right combination of courage and deliberation reflects maturity. I am more tranquil, kind, attentive and rational but still growing.

Commitment, lastly, basically defines honor and courage. I commit to those two core values with responsibility to any task or plan nevertheless. For instance, I want to graduate on time so I commit myself in school every day to come out successful in that plan. I understand that all decisions I make are commitments that can either deteriorate or ameliorate my life at any time. I’ve always shown resilience, I am determined to persevere when things are difficult, striving to get back up and keep going. By any means necessary I am committed to achieve all goals I have set.
