Being separated from other people isn’t fun. In South Africa that is how it was. People who didn’t like to be separated from other tried to change that. They didn’t get anywhere. Nelson Mandela helps the South Africans to fight against apartheid.
First, It always seems impossible until it’s done famous word of Nelson Mandela. Nelson Mandela was born in Mvezo, South Africa, on July 18, 1918. Nelson was the son of the tribal leader Gadla Henry Mphakanyiswa. After Gadla died Nelson was adopted by Jongintaba Dalindyebo. Jongintaba put Nelson through great schools. Nelson had earned a law degree in 1953. Nelson Mandela went to 10 different colleges. Nelson earned his bachelor of law degree from the University of South Africa while he was in jail. Nelson went the University of the Witwatersrand where he was expelled for being in school protest.
Next, Nelson Mandela and Oliver Tambo had set up a law firm. Nelson and Oliver primarily served black clients. The stories of their clients told were heartbreaking and unfair. What really made Nelson Mandela more convinced that he has to put an end to apartheid. On Easter Sunday in 1944 Nelson and his organized the youth league as a part of the African National Congress. The youth league seeks for black Africans to work together for a change. Nelson works with African National Congress to see that South Africans have their civil rights.
On May 10, 1994, Nelson Mandela became the leader of the African National Congress. Nelson Mandela and Frederik Willem de Klerk, who was the South Africa president work together to end South Africa apartheid system of racial segregation. On June 26, blacks and people of color around Johannesburg began breaking apartheid laws. The police began arresting ANC leaders. The police raided Nelson Mandela home. Nelson Mandela served 27 years in jail for protesting against and breaking apartheid laws. Nelson Mandela was released from prison on February 11, 1990. Nelson was also charged with sabotage in 1963 which was part of the Rivonia Trial Nelson. Mandela uses Mahatma Gandhi civil disobedience method in South Africa to end apartheid.
Then, Nelson Mandela died on December 5, 2013. If Nelson Mandela has never lived apartheid will still be going on in South Africa. Nelson Mandela changes the way people look at racial discrimination in South Africa. But Nelson did live and apartheid abolished in 1991. Nelson Mandela was promoting the message of forgiveness and equality. Nelson Mandela leads the African and white people who disagree with apartheid in the 20th century. Nelson Mandela vision during the apartheid era was for the removal of apartheid and make South Africa a constitutional democracy. Nelson Mandela became president of South Africa on May 10, 1994. Nelson Mandela won 37 awards; like the Nobel Peace Prize, Gandhi Peace Prize, and World Citizenship award.
