My first accomplishment is being able to live a debt free. At a young age my parents taught me how to manage money, and how to separate my needs from my wants. They never just handed me things, but instead, if I wanted something I had to work for it and earn the money. These principles taught me how to save money and to pay for things without accruing debt whenever possible. Saving money and living a debt free life has allowed me to go back to school and graduate with my Associates Degree without any school debt.
I have also been able to finish paying for my wife’s education so she could graduate with her Bachelor’s Degree without any school debt. Being able to live a debt free life has taken a lot of stress and worry out of my life and my family’s life. I do not have to worry about making ends meet each month because of the lessons I have been taught. My parents also taught me to be prepared and have a rainy-day fund. This is important so that if unexpected events or emergencies happen we are prepared and do not have to go into debt to make things work. These principles are something I am grateful for and want to be able to teach to others.
My second accomplishment is getting married to my best friend. I always told myself I would not get married but things changed and I got married. Marriage, and the journey to getting married, has been a big accomplishment in my life and one I am proud of. Being married has taught me many life lessons and has provided me the chance to improve myself. Marriage has taught me how to build better relationships and how to improve the relationships I already have. Marriage is not an easy thing and takes a lot of work to maintain, but it is worth the work.

This accomplishment has made me a better person and will continue to help me grow. The skills and lessons I have learned from being married is something that will continue to benefit me and my family in the years to come. Being married has allowed me to teach certain principles within our relationship, and has also allowed me to learn other principles as well. Marriage allows for the endless amounts of learning and opportunities to grow.
My third accomplishment is graduating with my Associates Degree. I never saw myself going back to school until I was introduced to the Pathway Program at BYU-Idaho. I decided this was my chance to go back to school and gain a higher education. With this accomplishment it has unlocked many opportunities in my life such as the option for a better career. This accomplishment has taught me many life skills and things I need to know moving forward with my education. This task was not an easy one. I had to find a balance in my life and my family’s life in order to be able to complete my degree.
My time management skills have improved by managing time to study, take classes, work a full-time job, and also make time for family. This accomplishment is just the starting point of my education, but I know that what I have learned and all the work I have done will benefit me and my family for a lifetime.
