I grew up in Bani Walid, Libya, where I attended Azzaytuna University, a nationally recognized college educational institution. Azzaytuna University is a public university which all academically inclined students throughout the city are going to attend if they manage to pass a general exam. At Azzaytuna University I used to be placed within the honors program. later I taught two advanced placement courses and I was receiving a stipend form the school. In addition, I completed 2 full years of working as a technical lab manager. All of that was after I graduated from Azzaytuna University within the prime common featured of my class and I got B.S degree in computer science. My journey into the discipline of engineering science started in class. I learned Programming basics and general downside finding there. I actually have invariably enjoyed maths and logical reasoning, therefore, writing pc programs quickly became my favorite activity. Most of the time I challenge myself to imagine new potential solutions for real-world issues and build them by writing new lines of code. Besides C and C++, I taught myself Python & MATLAB languages and started my cloud computing’s career.
Upon graduating Azzaytuna University I was accepted to Libyan Academy to complete my graduate studying. I immediately decided to become a computer engineer researcher and professor at any of schools because technology using started to spread very dramatically. My first semester at Libyan Academy was promising, and I struggled through the semester pursuing a career that I eventually got to stop because of starting the revolution and fighting in Libya in 2011. Here is the hardest period of my life. I would like to share with you this story for a specific period of time in my life which I will not forget at all. The following events which I faced in 2011 and 2012 were the best motivation to continue searching for a school to finish my graduate studying. After 7 months of war starting in the capital of the country (Tripoli), the fighting moved to beside my city and the rebels besieged the city and start bombing my city with heavy artillery and missiles which led to injured me with a critical condition in addition to kill some children and civilian people from the city. Then I underwent a surgical operation in different parts of my body that continued for 8 hours because of injuries caused by shrapnel missiles.
After that, I spent one month in intensive care in the emergency room of the hospital. During that time a lot of rockets were falling on the hospital campus. It was a very difficult time and I was about to lose my life because of the war even though I was a civilian with my family and my relatives and their children and other innocent people. After that, I had to leave the hospital and the city because the bombing was extremely and intensive although I was needed much caring. Next, I could leave with most people to safer places. At that time the situation over Libya has not stable. The melilites have controlled all the channels related to the administration and government of the country. They start arrested and kill everyone who is related to my tribe because the tribe declared supporting the regime and keep the country safe without letting the terrorist groups get controlling the country. I decided that I should leave the country because I do want to pursue graduate study in the field of computer science. Especially I was one member of the tribe who stood with Colonel Gaddafi and it was supporting the regime against the bad groups. So, It was not possible to finish my studying with like that situation. So, I spent most of my time out of sight until finding a way to leave to the safe place.
After one year of leaving my city, the war broke out again in October 2012. here, My desire increased to continue my education, but I was out of money. Since my family was of very modest means, I relied heavily on financial aid and borrowed some money from friends and traveled to Egypt where I started having courses to prepare for graduate studying. It was not surprising that in reaction to my unsatisfactory engineering experience, I spent a year and a half in the general courses. I completed some programs and have Certificates in different fields on a computer science major. I joined the Arab Academy for Science and Technology Community Service Programs in Alexandria-Egypt and had MS Windows Certificate. Then, I finished a program in Diploma of Web Design and Networks and Maintenance in International British Institute (IBI) in Alexandria -Egypt. I also had an International Computer Driving License (ICDL Certificate). By the end of 2013, I was ready to start my graduate studying. Here even though everything in the country got worst and the melilites have controlled the over country, I got had a scholarship from my last school because I excelled during my studies in the computer science department. I was a teaching assistant and lab manager and I had done jobs during my four years of studying there. At this point, I felt the life reopen its opportunities to me and this great chance to be away from the conflicts which have been taking place in different reigns over the country. I could not continue to stay in Egypt because of the financial reasons. So, I was having only two options either looking for a way to help me to apply for the graduate program or go back and stay in Libya and wait for the militias to come and arrest or kill me. I went back to the country and finished all my procedure to get acceptance in the US. I got admitted to the University of New Haven in Connecticut in the US. I moved to the US and started achieving my dream in 2016.
