The overall aim of having grade representatives on the student council is to improve the learning experience/environment for current and future students. By having grade representatives gather and communicate views from their peers on various aspects of courses. In Aspengrove this can be exceedingly important because of each member in student council is able to share the ideas, difficulties, suggestions from their grade. This leads the Student Council a better cognizance towards arranging plans, organizing activities and establish goals for the school.
Not enough socializing and interacting with each other used to be one of the issues in our class. However due to the new rules of “phones away”. I observed that there are much more conversations happening around on the lunch tables. I genuinely wish that most of our problem can be solved like this
I was taught that being responsible is one of the most significant principles in my life. As going to be a future grade 11 students in AGS, I am aware that as an older student I would take much more responsibilities in participating and taking the lead of the group. The power of responsibilities always motivates me to be the better version of Max Z hence to be even more determined to take on the challenges. Besides, I also acknowledge myself as extroversion who maintains an outgoing demeanour, show an interest in people, and always gladly participate in group or team activities.

In addition, I believe that I do have a slight sense of humour or what you also can be considered as wit which I deem as one of the essential traits people should acquire in the student council. Last but not least, I have the willingness to take risks that sometimes may put myself “out there” for criticism and blame. To be honest, I would really like to make some changes in the student council in the way student council handle the tasks. Instead of turning down ideas like mental health week,multi culture week etc. I would really want to consider how to make an idea meaningful by brainstorming seeking suggestions. While it might be true those ideas are difficult to organize into meaning activities however I don’t see any reason why we should not take on these ideas in the future.
Currently as a grade 10 representative who now participating in the student council; I understand the responsibility and challenges student council has to take on in our school. My name is Max Zhu and I assure the people who trust me that I will continue to do the best in my power.
