Students are those people who attend class in educational institutions like school or college or university to learn something or to acquire knowledge. There are two different types of students, one is a passive student, and another is an active student. Each student has their own way to gain knowledge.

There is a vast difference between a passive and an active student. An active student and a passive student can be differentiating according to their nature, attitude, behavior, participation. An active student is smart who can achieve the goal whereas passive student fails to achieve goal. An active student is the hard worker fully focused on their ambition, but the passive students are work less and do more fun and other activities in free time. A passive student and an active student are different in characteristics, their participation in daily activities with a positive and negative attitude.

A passive student and an active student have a different characteristic because they have different way of gaining knowledge, different lifestyle, and understanding. The quality of work or activity determines the type of student. An active student is always eager to learn something, he or she is highly competitive, focused, ambitious, time conscious and always has a curiosity to learn something new whereas a passive student is completely opposite who is not a good performer, easy-going, relaxing, talkative. An active student can generate the new ideas and creation to sort out the specific problem, but a passive student is poor to generate ideas and not able to show their skills.

Active students hate delay and always want perfection but, the passive students just sit at back and do relax. For example, the active student submits the assignments before the due date. They do have time for research and work for the assignment which helps to get an excellent grade. They want to be best of best but, the passive student they don’t care about the time, they just do and submit the assignments at the last moment with the rough draft. They don’t have a sense of urgency.

Participation of a passive and an active student

An active student is always willing to learn and actively participate in different activities like class discussion, speech competition, debate competition. They push themselves and concentrate to engage in extra-curriculum activities, attending lecture class, spend time in the library for reading books. They do group discussions and answer the questions to share their views and idea which help to focused on achieving success. Active students never feel hesitant to an ask question to their teacher. Because of their participation, they can build up confidence for public speaking. But, the passive students, they are unwilling to study and unwilling to participate in class discussion.

In the group discussion, they just participate because of its compulsion, but they don’t answer any question. They are dull and quiet during the group discussion. They feel embarrassed to ask and share their ideas. Passive students almost spend their time to hang out with their friends or with family.

An active student has a very positive attitude whereas a passive student has a negative attitude. For the active student, a study is the main priority. They try to learn as much as possible about what they are studying. The positive part of active students, they never miss the class, take notes, try to pass all the exams with good grades. On the other hand, passive students have lots of other things to do rather than study. Many passive students attend the class because they are forced by their parents. They took everything very lightly, do not focus on study, never have a curiosity to learn something. Most of the passive students don’t have the confidence to share their views in front of the public.

Thus, a passive student is different from an active student because of different thoughts, nature, character, and understanding. They both are attending the same class, but every individual has their own strategy and plans to achieve the goal. Active student, in compare with a passive student, they are more focused, more competitive, understanding, motivated. Passive students are usually dull and lazy. Passive students are less communicative in comparision to active students.
