The Early Childhood Child Development Center acknowledges that electronic technology greatly enhances our employee and student performance. However, all persons (i.e., staff, volunteer, intern, and observer) working in the center shall use these resources appropriately. Technological resources include, but are not limited to, cell phones, email, computer technology, and internet usage. As electronic technology has become a normal part of modern society and how we communicate, it is important that guidelines, user responsibility, and standards of ethical conduct are discussed.
Therefore, any person working inside the center (i.e., employee, intern, volunteer, and observer) shall use electronic resources appropriately and follow the rules and regulations on the attached disclaimer. Please note, any person that uses the center’s electronic resources are for professional use only and personal use is strictly prohibited. Privileges may be rescinded at any time, and without warning.
Moreover, any person using personal electronic resources (iPad, cellular phone) for professional use in the center is strictly prohibited. Personal use may include photographing of children, videos, social media sites, and audio saved on devices. Online / Internet Services
A designee (i.e., Director) of the center is responsible for all computers and devices that hold internet access. The designee will ensure that all devices accessing the internet will have protective measures that restricts and prevents access to obscene material and unsecure sites. All persons will use the center resources for professional and educational use only. It is strictly prohibited for any person to use the center’s resources for personal use. Any person(s) caught using resources inappropriately will be disciplined.
In addition, to ensure services are used appropriately, the designee may audit a person’s use of resources, including computers, software, internet use, and e-mail, at any time, and without notice or consent. All usernames and passwords will be documented, so the designee may have full access to resources. Any person who fails to abide by the standards, shall be subject to disciplinary action, removal of user privileges, and legal action, if needed.

Use of Personal Communication Devices
Any person whether employee, volunteer, intern, or visitor, shall not use a personal communication device (i.e., iPad, cell phone, camera) while in the center, and during operating hours. Use of a cellular phone or mobile communication device is prohibited in the center, with the exception of emergency situations and/or during scheduled breaks.
In addition, inappropriate use of cell phones, cameras, video cameras, audio recorders, and any other electronic device, except items purchased by the center, is not allowed. For example, using personal electronic devices to record and photograph any children in the center is strictly prohibited, in violation of the center’s Disclaimer (see attached), shall be subject to discipline procedures, and may be referred to law enforcement officials as appropriate.
However, all electronic items purchased by the center (iPad, cell phone, camera) are to be used strictly on the center’s grounds, kept in a secure area within the center, and used for educational purposes only. Any person using electronic resources purchased by the center either inappropriately and/or for personal use will be subject to disciplinary procedures and may be referred to law enforcement officials as deemed appropriate.
