Recently I have watched the movie The Hate U Give and I really enjoyed it. The movie is a drama and crime fiIm.lt is about a teenage girl named Starr who grapples with ractsm, police brutality. and activism after Witnessing something you never want to Witness, This movte has wonderful actors who really played their part. Starr who is the main character is a sixteen year old black girl who lives in garden heights With Maverick Caner. Lisa Caner, Seven Carter. and Sekani Caner her family. Starr Caner moves between two worlds: the poor neighborhood where she lives and the fancy suburban prep school she attends, The uneasy balance between these worlds is shattered when Starr Witnesses something that changes her life forever.
This movte has tons of emotions and you feel them as the movre goes along. These actors were spot on With all the events. The way the movre was planned was amazing. You won’t want to take your eyes off the screen. And they made it so that you felt that you were there with the actors. The Visuals were amazmg and how they would give a lull View of Garden Heights. The special effects were definitely there like in some pans of the movie you can really see where they put detail and emotion all in one and you feel it. The music played at the end definitely went with the movie; it really matched up with what the mowe was saying.
The book and movie are similar but when you read the book alter watching the movie you can tell where things don’t match up. There is one character from the book who is not shown in the movie but other than that the actors do display what the description of the was. African Americans have definitely enjoyed this movie because it displays what we have to go through on a daily basis, This book definitely engaged and amazed me. The fact that there are places like this everywhere it relates to so many people. The Hate U Give teaches you so much and the title of the mowe/book is related to Tupac Shakur he he had THUG LIFE tattooed it across his stomach and the meaning behind It means.

The hate u give little infants blanks everybody and what he saying is that if we continue to bring up children in a negative environment, surrounded by racism. violence and oppression then the cycle will iust continue which speaks volume. I think people who love being part of making a change should see this movre and African Americans should see it too. Overall. this was a great movie with a mix of emotions and a reality check. if you are looking for a movte to wake you up to see what African Americans go through watch this movie. This is undoubtedly a movie that has changed the way people live.
