Childhood bullying is a social issue that can cause negative effects. Based on the media text “Childhood bullying can cause lifelong psychological”, about 20% of victim of childhood bullying experience mental illness in adulthood. Bullying may increase risk of developing personality disorders. If children are still developing their own personalities, bullying could lead to a step-down in self-esteem. When the victims being bullied and there is nobody lend them a hand, they might start to lose of trust in their rest of life. As time passes, they might loss of hope and give up their future. Thus, childhood bullying can cause long-term psychological disorders to the victims.

Depression is negative consequence of childhood bullying. Based on the TED talks, Koyczan 2013 shared his personal issues of moving through childhood and adolescence, which included being depressed, abandoned by his parents, and an embarrassing story of how he got the nickname. Before he understood obese kids are not designed to climb trees, he fell down from a tall tree and injured his body. This stupid story was flashed around and he got his funny nickname, “Pork chop”. He was turned out of house by parents for three days. To this day, Koyczan hatreds pork chop. It is therefore clear that bullying can cause a long-lasting scar to a person. To this day, they may still lack of self-confidence although they were enough perfect.

The child who being bullied grew up trusting nobody would care about and love them. Ergo, broken hearts sting bled the blues. Based on TED talks by Koyczan 2013, there was a girl who got a nickname called ugly. The school compound was a battlefield, a war zone for her. The bullies pasted sticky notes on front of her table that wrote, “Beware of dog”. To this day, despite her dearest husband, she still thinks that she is ugly due to a big birthmark on her face. To this day, the bullies will never realise that she was growing up two sons whose definition of beauty starts with the word “Mom” as the bullies judged her skin before her heart. Hence, the victim of childhood bullying will never easily love or receive love from others due to their trauma since childhood which was totally night mere for them.

In a nutshell, Childhood bullying has potential to ruin a happy childhood of an innocent child. Every child is equal and their innocence must not be harmed by unsatisfactory attitude. Bear in mind that, “Childhood bullying is malicious, it poisons you, sticks with you, but only if you let it.” We must be a model treating people with kindness and respect to reduce the rate of childhood bullying. Children don’t always have a voice of their own. We must be that voice. Childhood bullying can we stop it?
