Famous for its warm, blue lagoon and sandy beaches, Bora Bora is ideal for a relaxing vacation. Be it long summers or a short vacation, almost everyone likes to take a timeout from life’s hustle and bustle to spend time with friends, families or just by themselves. Growing up in a tourist destination myself, I would always see tons of people getting off cruise ships or being shuttled from the airport, looking happy and ready for their vacation. Seeing this sort of scenery every day is what led me to believe that a true vacation is a trip to somewhere new and different. A place where I can choose whether I want to relax on the beach or take in a little water adventure.
Bora Bora as a Vacation Spot
Bora Bora is world-famous for its glinting turquoise lagoon, dazzlingly white sandy stretches of beach and luxurious resorts. With such a dreamlike setting, this magical island is, unsurprisingly, a great spot to decompress. But there’s much more to do than simply sipping a cocktail on my chaise. Swimming with the black tip reef sharks is something that I have always wanted to try. These sharks are not aggressive and besides, it’s not every day someone gets to swim with them. Like sharks, stingrays can seem a little dangerous, but for the most part they like to be around people. In Bora Bora, give them a pat and a fish to munch on and soon they will become your best friend. This small adventure is a great reason to add Bora Bora to my bucket list It’s exciting thinking how much fun I can have with the different sea animals.
Next, food and vacation go hand in hand. The Poisson cru dish is raw fish marinated in lime juice and is often served with salad. It’s one of Bora Bora’s very popular dishes. Salads are not my favorite to eat however, vacations are about trying new things so, I would surely love to give the island’s best-known salad a bite. Furthermore, meats such as chicken and pork are flavored with local ingredients and are served with sweet potato and breadfruit.
In addition, Bora Bora being a tropical island would be able to eat my favorite fruits in abundance, especially, the papayas and pineapples. After eating all that good food then surely, I would love to submerge myself in an underwater scooter and explore the uniqueness of the turquoise lagoon from under. I am not a good swimmer, but this aqua-bike adventure is said to be safe and comfortable. I imagine the scenery would be very picturesque.
Conclusion
In summary, Bora Bora is not just an island, it’s an experience of swimming with black tip reef sharks and stingrays and, for a more relaxed adventure, take a dip in an underwater scooter. After having some fun in the sea and sun, then it’s time for some juicy local food to work the appetite. Be it with friends, family or solo, with its pleasant weather all year round and stunning scenic beauty, Bora Bora is the ideal destination to unwind and recover.
