When it comes to the belief systems between cultures you can almost always find the slightest similarities but more so you usually find differences. However, with Buddhism and Christianity you can find a wide array of similarities between cultures. Both of these cultures were spiritual, egalitarians, and they shared common values. With these two cultures they devoted their lives to their faith and stood by what they believed in,

One of the history\’s most unlikely stories was based of of a man who\’s name is Jesus of Nazareth, became the base of Christianity which is now the world\’s second great universal religion. You can compare Christianity to Buddhism which was founded by India\’s Siddhartha Gautama. These two men never had the intention of creating these two religions but were trying to change the traditions from what they had come from. Christianity and Buddhism emerged together but as separate religions and both teachers were transformed into gods by their followers.

Buddhism emphasizes how their is an endless cycle of birth and rebirth along with the idea of incarnation. Although, Christianity emphasizes more so on \”salvation\”, where if Christians view Jesus as our saviour they will gain eternal life in heaven. Both of these religions are egalitarians which means that they are accepting and believe that all people are equal and deserve equal rights and opportunities.

Buddhism and Christianity share similar values as well. There are The Five Precepts of Buddhism which state that they shall remain abstinent from killing, lying, stealing, sexual misconduct, and intoxication. These beliefs are quite similar to The Seven Deadly Sins of Christianity which are pride, envy, gluttony, greed, lust, sloth, and wrath. These religions are also taught to overcomes forces of hatred towards others. Christians believe that you should \’Love your enemy\’ and Buddhists believe that \’Hatred cannot be overcome by hatred\’.

Christianity and Buddhism are two of the most similar yet well known religions in my opinion. They share such common beliefs and how they view the world. Both religions have such spiritualistic approaches to life and live by their faith because they believe that pure happiness can be gained from spiritual consciousness and spiritual beliefs or values.
