Augmented Reality games and more applications are as of now overflowing with space for misunderstandings by confrontations with, law enforcement officers who are oblivious with the medium. Augmented Reality will allow convenience for criminal actors to enlist and collude with new members, and give new tools for accomplishing criminal arrangements. Police agencies are also working to establish Augmented Reality tools and plan of actions. Simultaneously, wearable devices and other augmented world technologies give exceptional ways for the public to hold their police officers answerable and liable.

The society that we live in is consumed by greater stages of technology growth. However, technologies such as virtual reality and augmented reality are building better and extra compelling competence for humankind. These technologies will have a big rule in the future of police technology and innovation. New capabilities are alternating the way people look at the world and their place in it. The Federal Bureau of Investigation speculate that augmented reality and emerging technologies will have a persuasive act in policing and public safety.

For the most part policing has moved away from backrooms of the administration building to the core of police opera. Challenges can be best addressed by developing and using a digital ethics framework and a set of guiding principles that help create digital trust. Such a framework can help law enforcement leaders and their stakeholders think through the possible effects of technologies on officers and communities, identify unintended consequences and address the use of advanced technology for public safety. In today’s world, a successful business must understand the social and ethical consequences of using technology and work to mitigate negative consequences.

Whereas this is necessary for business, it is inescapably true for the public sector, specifically the police. Just as police leaders today are working to build the trust of the community, in the near future they will have to be concerned with building digital trust. Digital trust is created when an organization has good data integrity, security and control, and its use of technology and data is governed by a code of ethics. Digital trust between the police and their stakeholders could allow for a more speedy uptake of promising technology and mitigate some of the risks associated with it.

The laws and regulations governing the capture and maintenance of crime and arrest data already provide police executives the basics of data ethics, and similar guidelines are often applied to new technology and data. Digital ethics is broader and includes how technology and the data are used and the outcomes of that use. Transparent data and digital ethics create digital trust.

Police are society’s doctors, the ones who still makes house visits. It’s the doctor’s job to examine the patient, diagnose the condition and prescribe an effective medication. A doctor who only treats visible symptoms, provides ineffective medicine , or treats it in a way that is potentially harmful and the patient suffers. Policing is definitely strong medicine and can produce miraculous cures. However, police officers are too ready to focus on a single visible symptom of a crime, or rely on untested remedies that have been handed down through tradition instead of science. This divide and the broader crisis surrounding it presents an overdue opportunity for some soul searching, for officers. The Code of Ethics is a rich document which many police organizations have incorporated into their policy manuals and oath of office ceremonies. It has served the law enforcement profession well , yet the document is not timeless. Just as policing has evolved, so must the code. In the years since the Code of Ethics’ inception, a vast body of scientific evidence has emerged regarding what works in policing and, perhaps more important, what does not. Ignoring this evidence base in favor of tradition or personal opinion is more than irresponsible; unscientific policing is unethical policing.
