In this essay I will be evaluating all of the smart targets I set the beginning of the year and how much progress towards them has varied depending on the target itself, I will also be analyzing my successes and failures when it comes to reaching this target throughout the year and what I could of done better to make sure that I was more successful in reaching target if I have missed it. This is important is the key to self evaluation and making sure that I do not repeat previous mistakes in the future. However, the targets come under three main categories short-term, medium-term and long term. I can’t really comment on half of the medium term and I can definitely not comment on any of the long-term targets due to the fact that they are based for the distant future.
For my first short-term target I chose, to state that I was hoping to apply to university. I have definitely achieve this target however looking back on it I could have achieved it much quicker if I had got on with my personal statement from the time that I have the knowledge about what I should include it from the outset. This could amend that I would have had this result at least a month earlier than I have achieved a thing. However on the positive side because I took longer period to do it I make sure that my personal statement was to the highest quality thatI could get it to and therefore I have achieved offers from all of my choices, these offers are all based on very achievable grade to me so l have the pick of five universities. This means can make sure to make an informed decision about which one I want to spend my future at, as well as looking into the course is about providing great detail to make sure the course tailor’s to my needs and what I’m looking for from the University experience.
My second short-term target was to get accepted by the University of East Anglia, have achieved this because I receive an offer of DDM. This is significantly lower than my predicted grade of D’D’D”. Which means I am almost definitely allowed to select this is a choice due to the fact that my grades are already at the standard required to get the entry requirements for the University. This is a huge positive as it takes a lot of the pressure of achieving high-grades for the rest of the year. I believe l achieve this offer due to the fact that my personal statement was to high-quality as well as making sure that I had picked a decent university as a choice. Although I have receive this offer I am looking at joining Surrey University due to the fact that they offer a more successful business program as well as having a higher employment rate after University students leaving, however this target was a huge positive for me as it made me look at other universities in greater detail as I saw that there was some high ranking universities offering good authors to BTEC students during this time.

My third short-term target was to get all distinctions in this year’s curriculum, this is due to the fact that in the first year I achieved all distinctions and I wanted to carry on the trend of achieving a high rate of success. If l had to take a look into where my progress lies with this target I would say that I’m on track to achieve all distinctions this year. However one of the aspects I need to look into is making sure the right cheek this grade first time without having to resubmit the work as this would mean that I have more time to spend on new projects instead of wasting time going over relearning old ones. This is important due to the fact that many universities during coursework you will not be able to resubmit the work on multiple occasions such important that I didn’t used to having to get my best effort on the first time instead of having to redo the assignments multiple times. However in terms of the target is on track of achieving all distinctions and that is the most important thing this year.
OverallI would say my progress to getting towards university is dead on track as have nearly achieve the required grades to get into all of my choices and this means I’m almost guaranteed to go to university at the end of this year, however looking back on it I could’ve applied to university is much quicker than I did as well as making sure that I’m not getting returned work on multiple occasions this means that I can spend more time looking to the future instead of having to repeat stuff that I’ve already done. From all of the courses this year Ilve achieved at distinction standard. And with this target although I’m not completed yet I would say that it is almost guaranteed to happen.
For the rest my targets I cannot comment on them get you to the fact the longer than the mid term and long term and they require on me already starting at university to analyze before I can complete them or not, four example internships want to be able to base ease off what I’m interested in the first year university to make sure that l’m not wasting my time during the summer going to the internship for a topic that l’m not truly interested in an rather tailoring my interests so that I can get the internship in the industry that most interests me at the time. With the long- term goals are to far in the future to give a possible comment on whether or notI believe l’m on track to achieve them and therefore I need to make sure that I’m constantly checking back on these targets to say that l’m ticking off the ultimate angle getting towards my future successfully.
In conclusion, I think that I am achieving all of my target within the timescales and before the review dates are almost necessary and therefore I believe that I will definitely go to university this year with all distinctions as well as making sure that consistently adding to my transferable skills which I set out in the previous document.
