Working and going to college everyday to make everyone happy is not for me. The Idea of joining the U.S Air Force is what I am very passionate and amazed with. Not only just to serve my country but continue my education to become a physical therapist. In my terms, physical therapist help patients rebuilds their personal strength and comfort them the best way possible. Honestly, it has been my dream to stand out in the Air Force uniform with my last name printed on the left side. I will surely ,in fact, make my family and friends proud but myself most of all. Furthermore, in the Air Force, I really want to start college to get my doctor of physical therapy (DPT) degree which takes 3 years. Four years completing an undergraduate degree then three years at a DPT program. Totaling I’ll spend 7 years of college while still being in the Air Force to become a physical therapist but in the end, it’s worth it.
Unfortunately, In the Air Force, I have no family, friends or just people that have served time in this specific branch. In my Family, I have three people my cousin, uncle and grandfather that served time in the Army branch. My uncle served nine years in the Army branch, four years in the artillery field and five years in the aircraft refueler. My grandfather also went into the army for four years in the artillery field too. Lastly, My cousin joined the army as well she only been in for four years and her MOS (JOB) was a 68D. MOS is a Military Occupational Speciality is a better name to identify a specific job in the army. 68D is an operating room technician that is responsible for assisting the surgeon with the procedure.
On the other hand, Ms. Tara Lambert known as my mentor didn’t go into the AirForce but knows so much important information about it. She described to me a detailed description of every military branch she knew much about. In the Army, it’s a good percent of turnarounds because of the disrespect and just realized Army isn’t made for them. Navy there is an eleven percent rate dropout of several reasons one is medical reasons. Also, Marines have a good percentage of dropouts too because of the same are reasons given. Even though I have no people in the Air Force career, I have only heard great things about the Air Force branch.
