When I was younger I always wanted to be in the medical field. At first I wanted to study to become pharmacist As I got older i started realizing that is not for me I still wanted to be in the medical field but not as a pharmacist. I geared my shift towards seeking a career that will save me time and still support me financially. I started searching and I found american institute college. It provides couple of different career options such as, physical therapy, massage therapy, dental assistant, and medical assistant. I chose to be a medical assistant because I love helping people and I want to make a difference.
When I started the program it felt great and it is the best program I have ever taken. I am excited and can not wait to finish and become an official medical assistant. I want to work in the hospital and make a difference in patient’s life. Medical Assistants are trained in such a broad spectrum that our profession is envied by others and sought out more than any other assisting career in the nursing field. I love informing family, friends, strangers, and/or patients, that, “Yes!” I will be a Certified Medical Assistant by the AAMA. It is a respectable career with the rewards of helping someone who needs you.
As a medical assistant you have the privilege to assist and maintain the balance and routine of the everyday operations in a medical office. You are needed in providing a positive and healing atmosphere, not only for patients, but for your colleagues as well. As medical assistants we can perform routine tasks and procedures such as obtaining vital signs, administering medications and injections, collecting specimens for lab testing, and recording medical information. Not only is a medical assistant certified in tasks and procedures, but we are trained and certified in the administrative and clinical field as well.
Whichever reason you choose medical assisting, you will not be disappointed because this is the best choice for you. You will have many choices for obtaining your education and certification, but I recommend only the best. This would be attending a medical assisting program accredited by the American Institute and obtaining your credentials with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA). The AAMA is the best of the best, so don’t settle for second best go for the Gold. Reward yourself and become a CMA because, the rewards and benefits will outweigh all the obstacles you encountered to get there. Medical assistants play an important role in the healthcare industry.
Almost every career in the medical profession is growing and that includes medical assistant who perform a variety of tasks. The advantages to becoming a medical assistant is that it allows you to work in the growing healthcare field without having to complete costly training at a school that requires years of study. Once the program is completed, medical assistant students can choose from a variety of career options, such as medical receptionist, medical records administrator, EKG technician and many more clinical positions.
Medical assistants plan an important part of the growing healthcare industry and there is no better time to get the training necessary to start a career in this exciting field. I want to work and do my exteren with an ultrasound doctor for me to get experience, I want to continue my education and be an ultrasound technician. As you can see, the reason why I need the money from the scholarship is to pay for educational expenses. Also, to assist me towards my goals.
