As stated the hobby of choice to be second career is cooking. The first step to really improve your cooking skills is to enroll in the cooking class. The cooking class does not have to be every day. At least, one day per week. If your timetable is full and you does not have the time to attend the cooking class you can invite a cooking teacher to teach you privately at home. This is one of the effective way because your private chef only have you to focus on and can also easily detected your mistake when you are cooking. By attending cooking class, you will also meet men and women who also love to cook like you. With this you can share your experience in cooking and type of dishes.

Next, you have to begin to cook the dishes that are your favorite. Cause when you failed in cooking the food that you likes you will have the will to try to cook it again and again until you succeed. It is the dishes that you really like, why you want to give up. For example like you really want something, at least you have the word ‘you really like’ in your heart and mind, of course you will try. When time passes, you will know what is the best way and techniques to prepare your favorite dish. You will also gradually memorize the recipe and can cook without the recipe book. When you can make the best out of your dish, you can try to make variations to make the perfect favorite dish of yours.

Besides that, you can try practice to use your senses of taste, smell, touch and sight for the seasoning of the dish and when it is done. This is one of the critical part in cooking because the seasoning make a lot of different after the cooking is done. Especially when you are using salt, when you put too much it will become salty but when you put too little it will become bland. Sometimes when you put too much salt the dish will become too stiff.

Finally, you need to have a notebook beside the recipe book. Because when you try something new when you are cooking, you can take note. You can write note about the techniques when cooking one part of dish. Take note that when you are cooking your dish, there is always something new that you can learn from the experience of your pass failed dish. You can also try new recipe from the internet, cooking shows or sometimes buy a new recipe from the store.
