Educational Philosophy is very important in a students learning. Educational Philosophy is the way an individual teaches. This is used as a tool to help build a learning strategy for the students. From this you can gather information to see weather this is helping the student and use this data to tweak or change this to improve the students learning.
From the article I learned that there are four steps to having a good educational philosophy. One of the steps is that students need to learn. This states that students must be actually gathering and learning from the way you are teaching, or your “plan”. This must be done in way that keeps students not only engaged but also still grasping the idea you are trying to get across. The second step is students need to be active participants in learning. This is just saying that students need to be doing things such as taking notes, memorizing, learning the basic studying techniques they need to know to help them learn and succeed in your class.
The third step states that learning is a physiological activity involving the whole body. This is just simply keeping the student engaged and wanting to learn more about the topic you are trying to teach. This can be fun projects and things such as that. The fourth and final step is talks about is that students must get timely feedback. Teachers must let the student know how they did but also use this information and data to adjust their own teaching plan for better results from the students themselves.

I feel in having a good educational philosophy you must get to know a little about the students your going to be teaching. I feel your style and things you relate the work to must in some way relate to the students you are teaching. This is so they can relate and fully grasp the concept you are trying to get across to them. I also feel that maybe a way you might be teaching may work for the common majority of the class my not work for everyone, so you might have to adjust a bit but not at the expense of the other students. So with that said I would probably step back see how I can help those individuals on the side to see if I couldn’t help show them in a way they may they might better understand the material. These are just a few of the many ideas I have thought about when pondering over my own educational philosophy.
