INTRODUCTION

The government of INDIA gives priority to education from the beginning to the end of education level. There are different schools and colleges which are funded by the government. The level of education may be different amongst the different provinces in INDIA (the type of education courses offered may differ amongst province also variation in age required for the program). But there is similarity in education throughout the country.

Stages of education system

Across INDIA there are many stages of education starting from early childhood education followed by primary education than high school (secondary education) and postsecondary education which includes program offered by colleges or universities and some vocational or technical education. Indian government has passed a law to give free and compulsory education for the children between aged between 6 to 14 years . The amount of days children need to study during the year is almost same among major provinces in INDIA.

Level of education

The literacy rate INDIA is 74% but it may differ among different provinces like the province of Kerala has the highest literacy rate of 93% and province of Bihar has the least literacy rate of 63%. The ratio of graduates compared to non-diploma holders is changing rapidly in the country as the market business now requires a minimum of graduate degree from college or university.

Education in different languages

There are different private schools apart from public schools and in private schools according to the province students must study 1 subject in the local language of the province like in Maharashtra students must study 1 subject in Marathi language and same goes for Gujarat province students must have 1 subject in Gujarati language or must study the language and this goes on with the other provinces in the country. There is no restriction regarding studying in different provinces a student of Gujarat province can study in Maharashtra province so students have the right to study in which ever province they want to study in.

School

In public schools election is been carried out and person is selected who represents the board that person is known as trustee who has the power and has a right to take decision regarding the school and inform the board about also there are some school which directly report to the head of school groups and some private schools which select their own trustee and this all school follows the curriculum set up by the provinces of the country.

Different levels of education

Early childhood education

This education program is designed for the children of age group between 3 to 5 years so the children of age 6 can enter in primary school level this education is offered by public and private schools also there are schools for disabled children who have blindness or can’t hear Most of the provinces offer 1 year of early childhood education (also known as playhouse education) but if the child has some problem than the child can do an additional 1 year than the child can enter in the primary school also the early education offered by the public also the decision rests with the parent’s whether they want their child to study in public or private school. This type of education is given to the children whose age is 4 or 5 so that they can go to primary school also early childhood education (playhouse) is compulsory as stated by the government of INDIA and no one can disobey the law. The school timings are of different types there is a full day, part time school and also the attendance is not mandatory Education in playhouse teaches children how to write alphabets, do mathematics, playing activity, and drawing art these type if education helps children to go to the next level of education which is (primary school) and also children get familiar with the instructor and environment of school.

Primary school

Primary education in INDIA is compulsory for all the children who are of age 6 or above primary education consists of 8 standards (grades) and as per the government there is compulsory education of an individual till14 years the distribution are stated below:-Standard 1 (age 6 to 7)Standard 2 (age 7 to 8)Standard 3 (age 8 to 9)Standard 4 (age 9 to 10)Standard 5 (age 10 to 11)Standard 6 (age 11 to 12)Standard 7 (age 12 to 13)Standard 8 (age 13 to 14)In primary education students study under 1 instructor throughout the year after completion of 1 year instructor changes there is special education for the disabled students who need personal attention due to disability. The structure of primary education has many subjects such as mathematics, science, arts, language (English and regional language as per province), drawing, history, geography, civics and physical education after passing each standard students earn new skills and masters them which will help them in high school.

High school

After successfully completing primary school students are promoted to high school here students will complete the remaining 4 standards which are stated below:-Standard 9 (age 14 to 15)Standard 10 (age 15 to 16)Standard 11 (age 16 to 17)Standard 12 (age 17 to 18) In INDIA after completion of 10th standard students must take a decision on whether to choose commerce stream or science stream. Majority of the students completes high school with good marks (grades).

Post-secondary (College)

As the students who has completed high school they are free to apply in college or university or their choice. In INDIA there are many colleges and universities but there is a difference in level of education so students who choose college will get certificate of college and can do diploma as well from the college many students do diploma from the college so that they can directly apply for jobs after completion of the program.

Post-secondary (University)

A university in INDIA grants higher education to the students of various fields and streams also grants undergraduate and post graduate education. The structure of university is quite similar as compared with the countries of the world.

Bachelor’s degree

Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Engineering it takes 3, 4 or 5 years to complete the course it depends on the course a student takes and his capability to complete the course.

Master’s degree

Master of commerce, arts and science is a master’s degree which takes 2 years for a student to complete.

PhD

The Doctorate or PhD degree is a specialized course done after master’s program that take about 3 to 6 years to complete it.
