Abstract
Nowadays, more and more students are able to have great opportunities to study in international schools. Eventually, when they finish all the courses successfully and get a perfect grade, they could fly towards the famous and fantastic foreign universities to absorb different sorts of useful and valuable knowledge. Fortunately, I am glad that I can have a chance to study in an international school called CYSS to experience the different cultures and knowledge from Canada. Gradually, I have learned more and more knowledge that I have never seen and it stimulates me to yearn for foreign universities. Especially, McGill University, University of Toronto and Western University. They are the unshakable three universities in my dream.
My Ideal Universities
Have you ever thought learning is boring? Have you ever generated an idea that you want to give up learning? I have to admit that I used to have this ridiculous idea. However, once I saw a popular saying- “no pains, no gains”. That really changed my life. From that time on, I started to struggle to learn more knowledge. Fortunately, I was very glad that I was able to have an opportunity to study in an international school. However, someone would like to ask: why do you want to study abroad instead of staying at home? From my perspective, with the development of the world, globalization has become an inevitable trend around the whole world. We not only need to learn our home country’s cultures, but also have to expand our sight and perspective to absorb the useful and meaningful foreign knowledge. Thus, if we want to study abroad, choosing a great and suitable university is the primary and significant thing to do. As far as I know, I will try my best to get a chance to be matriculated among McGill University, University of Toronto and Western University. They all have a top-notch business college for us to learn the business.
First of all, I would like to introduce the University of Toronto. It is a public research university that was constructed in 1827. Recently, the University of Toronto has been developed as a university integrating learning, knowledge creation and discovery. If I have a chance to enter this university, my learning skills and creativity will be enhanced considerably. Everyone studies in this school would work with preeminent leaders and learn from them. At the same time, the University of Toronto is located in the economy, technology and culture center of Canada-Toronto. This city offers students a perfect and appropriate atmosphere to study. As I just mentioned, I am interested in business. This university has an authoritative and strong business college called Rotaman which is one of the most popular and strongest business colleges in the world. It is a sort of catalyst for transformative learning, creative learning and public engagement. Its goal is very specific- to create value and benefit society. In the business class, the energetic and relaxing atmosphere is pretty good for students to create and launch their opinions and ideas. In a word, this is a place of change.
From my perspective, its MBA program is the best choice to pick. It is a comprehensive degree that assists you to generate necessary knowledge, flexibility and confidence. Nonetheless, not everyone can get a seat in it. They are looking for students who are with high potential for leadership and high-qualified self- studying ability. You not only need to pass the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) and Graduate Record Examination (GRE), but also have to get an average of 90+. That is obviously very hard. But I will try my best to attach its ticket leading to success.
Our today’s second main character is the McGill University which is one of the most well-known public research university in Canada built in Montreal in 1821. McGill University is famous for its teaching and research programs. It not only has the high-qualified teachers around the world but also attracts smart and excellent students from Canada, China, America and other countries. McGill University has the same goal and command as the University of Toronto for students. They all dedicated to cultivate the brightest students and make them achieve more and more awards successfully than their peers.
Montreal is one of the best places for students to study and could give them the perfect employment opportunities and learning atmosphere as same as Toronto.
However, as one of the most renowned universities in Canada, it has the highest and hardest requirements of the admission score. Commonly, the minimum admission score has to be 85 percent or higher. There is a situation that probably the competition of the degrees among people is too drastic. Therefore, you have to make sure that you can have an invincible score. Besides, we also need to prepare a copy of the senior high school transcript and pass the Academic Proficiency Test well.
McGill’s Desautels Faculty of Management is also a great business college that has plenty of innovative programs and historic reputation appealing best students to come here to study. Although the Rotaman’s level is a little bit better than it, it is no doubt that it is an excellent place to learn the business and I will also try my best to get its offer.
Last but not the least, it is the Western University. Western University is also a public research university located in London, Ontario which is one of the most popular schools in Canada. It has more than 130 years of academic accumulation and authoritative background of human resources. Therefore, it is known as the ‘The most beautiful university in Canada’.
The beautiful city-London which is the central region of culture, economy and entertainment. As same as the two cities that I just mentioned, it also gave people a suitable place for working, studying and living. Compared with other big cities in Canada, London not only can let you experience living in the metropolis, but it is also affordable for many people to live inside. It has a comprehensive and thorough educational and medical system that protect everyone’s safety.
Nonetheless, the most attractive and exciting part for me is the Ivey business school in this university. According to the professional and extensive research, and business experience, Ivey’s teachers deliver the greatest classroom experience. They teach students by utilizing Case-Method learning to make students attain the skills and capabilities to tackle nowadays challenges. Except for its special teaching means, the students in Ivey business school would have opportunities to do international sharing, communicating and practicing. You will expand your sight and it will lead you to a successful life.
It is no doubt that the conditions are extremely difficult. Firstly, after you get into Western University for two years, you might have a chance to enter the Ivey business school. However, your first two years grade average is supposed to be 95 percent. The second thing you should know is that you are not competing with your peers, you are fighting with all the students around the world. That means you have to prepare to be the best one among them. Thirdly, you need to have high IQ, EQ and fantastic leadership. As we can see, it is truly difficult to get into it. Nevertheless, I believe ‘no pains, no gains’ stably. I will put all my energy on it and I hope one day that I can achieve my dream.
Conclusion
In a word, no matter it is the McGill University or the Western University or the University of Toronto, one thing has never changed: They have the tough admission conditions. Thus, we have to work harder and smarter. Once you run further away from all the people around you, you will stand at the peak of the mountain and show the world that you are successful and valuable. No pains, no gains. So, from now, let’s study hard and work together, let’s help each other and communicate with them. With our struggle, I firmly believe one day we all could be admitted into our dreaming university.
