Growing up in a small community volunteer work is key to keeping it clean and up to date. Each year there are more opportunities to do the volunteer work that’s needed. My school host a community service day each year for every student to be involved in. Every student gets to go with a class or a club to different businesses around the community to help out. For the past 2 years, I have had the honor of going to a local nursing home called “Mills Manor.” At this nursing home, we had the chance to clean, play games with the elders, and cook for them. More than just community service day I have been involved in many different types of volunteer work. A lot of my volunteer work is at my church and school. Some of my volunteer work includes back to School Registration 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019, planned multiple school functions, organized and led a prayer group of over 300 students in lieu of the National Walkout protest for gun control, led see you at the pole in 2018, was a cast member in the Promise which is an annual easter production, sing special music on Sunday mornings, worked Trace Creek Baptist Church yard sale, serves as a weekly helper in an Awana program, and helped with Trace Creek Baptist Church youth mission week where we stuffed backpacks for back to school giveaways. This is just some of the volunteer work I have been apart of in high school. Over the years it has truly become one of my interests as well as many other things. Club memberships is also an interest of mine. Being involved in and out of school is something that I enjoy very much. I have learned that it’s important to help out around your school, church, and other places around the community. The best way to do this is to be involved in club memberships. The clubs I am involved in now would be DECA, Youth Council, Youth leadership, Interact, Rotary, and Trace Creek youth group. Outside of school and the community I enjoy sports, singing, and traveling. Sports have made me the person I am today, being a senior, and letting go of something that has been apart of my life for many years is hard, but I would not trade it for anything. The game of soccer is truly what I am most interested in. Singing and traveling are both interests I have learned to love, but do when I or my family has time.

Being an involved student at my High School extracurricular activities are very important to me. I try to be involved in everything I can be. Over the past 4 years of High School, I have had the honor of being in the local youth council. I am also involved in youth leadership, leadership class, Rotary, DECA, volunteer work at a local elementary, a part-time job at the YMCA, athletics, and an active member in Trace Creek Baptist Church youth group. Each of these activities have given me the opportunity to be myself and help out in all different kinds of ways. Some other extracurricular activities I have been involved in would be football homecoming 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019, selected and attended the Drug Alcohol and Tobacco (DAT) conference, qualified and attended the DECA state conference in Louisville, Region 1 soccer champions 2016, attended 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019 Bluegrass Games, was an instructor at Lady Eagle Mini Soccer Camp in 2018, district tournament runners up in 2018, and regional tournament runners up in 2018. These are just some of the extracurricular activities I have been involved in.

My past work experience includes lifeguarding at Oak Hills Swim and Racquet Club, lifeguarding at the YMCA, working in the kitchen at Oak Hills Swim and Racquet Club, babysitting for friends and family, and working at Perkins Photography and Beautiful Beginnings. Having a job in high school has taught me how to value money and time.

My name is Audrie Brooke Fralicx, most people call me by my middle name “Brooke.” I am a sibling to 3 kids ranging from all different ages 19, 12, and 6. I live with my father and stepmother; who I think of like my mom. At the age of 8, my mom and dad decided to separate due to different reasons. Being in the third grade it was hard to comprehend what was really going on. Up until my 8th-grade year in middle school, I would travel back and forth between my parent’s houses, but I lived with my mom more at the time. In the 8th-grade I made the decision to move in with my father and step-mother. This was the best decision for me mentally, physically, and emotionally. Looking back at how my life has played out I would not change any of it. My past has truly made me the person I am today.

I have many reasons why I want to attend college. I want to attend Murray State University to pursue a career in young education. Kids have always held a special place in my heart. Thinking about getting to spend every day with them and getting the opportunity to teach them is something I can’t wait to do. I want to be able to make an impact in the lives of students like my teachers have made an impact on my life. In my family, there are no teachers, saying this I would be the first in my family to pursue a career in education. Teaching is something I have wanted to do since elementary school.

I hereby certify that this essay is my own work and that the statements made are true and accurately represent my current situation.
