Then fast forward to 1896, when Svante Arrhenius becomes the first chemist to measure carbon dioxide’s role in keeping the planet warm. From this he was able to later conclude coal burning could cause a “noticeable increase” in carbon levels over centuries.
By 1965 the U.S. President Lyndon B. Johnson publicly addresses the global issues arising from the increase of CO2 resulting from the burning of fossil fuels. Since about the 1970’s until now the average temperature has increased globally at the fastest rate ever recorded in history. Unfortunately, Researchers are not predicting a decline in the average and temperatures in the U.S. could increase by up to 10 degrees Fahrenheit over the next 100 years.

There are many reasons provided by climate researchers on the reason for global warming the most popular and widely supported reasons is the “green-house effect” contributing factor to global warming. Global warming happens when the layer of pollution made up of Fluorinated gases, Carbon Dioxide( CO2), Methane ( CH4), and a host of other greenhouse gasses collect into the atmosphere capturing all the sunlight and solar radiation that have come in contact with earth’s surface. The idea known as the “Greenhouse Effect” results in pollutants in the air trapping heat into the planet’s atmosphere. These impacts include the loss of large masses of sea ice, longer, more extreme heat waves and an acceleration in the rise of sea levels.
Scientifically defined a biological effect is “the response of an organism, a population, or a community to changes in its environment.” (Walker et al., 2006) This means not only is global warming causing changes in the earth, but this has an effecting the planet and all its inhabitants. These consequences were previously predicted by scientist but have turned out to be far more than anyone anticipated. Climate change may interfere with the lives of organisms and their sacred environment, causing reductions in survival and reproduction. As a result, there are impacts vastly seen among populations and species changes in distributions across most parts of the planet.
These changes are perceived as a gift for some species and cause death sentence or extinction for others. In humans the aftereffects include allergies, asthma, and outbreaks of infectious disease that spread because of favorable conditions and mosquitoes. There has also become a very visible trend that the black and low-income communities for the majority are hardest hit by climate change.
This leads to a discussion about other issues including lack of proper medical care, health insurance, education in under privileged schools on climate change and ways to reduce your carbon footprint, and resources providing information and support in these communities. All these issues stem from an ancient problem that was taken lightly, that has not become a tornado spiraling out of control.
In these deprived communities’ toxic factories and businesses, like power plants, manufacturing companies and pipe lines produce deadly elements like mercury, lead, and other contaminants into the air, water and food into communities with no knowledge to the populace. Many of these same places are also producing carbon-dioxide emissions and methane the vehicles for climate change. Until smaller moral issues are addressed global warming and it’s Biological effects will wreak havoc on the planet in more ways than one.
