I would like to speech over health and fitness at this session. In the real terms health and fitness are both which we cannot separate to live a healthy and happy life. Without proper health and fitness, one cannot have a physical, mental and social well-being.
We all know that physical activity or sport have a lot of benefits in our physical and mental health.
The sedentary lifestyle is the cause of many of the common diseases like:
- high blood pressure,
- coronary heart disease,
- stroke,
- diabetes,
- bone diseases and
- some cancers.
In addition to weaken our muscles and facilitate bad body postures.
On the other hand, from the sport activity we obtain multiple benefits, both physically and mentally it helps us to stay in good health and in shape, and it is in that physical-mental relation where we will focus today.
Physical Benefits of Sports Activity
- It can be an effective tool when it comes to preventing diseases related to weight disorders, such as overweight or diagnosed obesity. One of the causes of the increase in overweight and obesity is the decline in physical activity due to the increasingly sedentary nature of many forms of work, new modes of transport and increasing urbanization.
- Those who practice physical activity on a regular basis are less likely to suffer from heart disease .

- Everyone knows that physical activity plays a fundamental role when it comes to strengthening muscles, tendons and ligaments. It allows us to have a stronger bone mass and delays the loss of it over the years.

- Physical activity will improve your energy on a daily basis. With an optimal physical condition, the daily fatigue will be less and you will have more energy during your daily work routine.

- Physical activity will improve your quality of sleep, so that your mind will be clearer and rested in order to be able to handle day-to-day situations.
- Practicing some activity can increase your life expectancy, by reducing the risk of contracting diseases caused by the total absence of movement.
- In elderly people there are more and more studies that support the recommendation of sports practice as a measure to reduce the progression of losses at the cognitive level.
With the awareness, information and support, people have more control on many of the factors that may influence their health and learn to take greater personal responsibility for their own well-being. The government will continue to support efforts to raise awareness of positive behavior that help people stay fit and live healthier lives. I am sure that by working together we can solve the problem. We must remain relentless in promoting healthy behaviors among the population.
