Imagine a world without color. A world without color would have no variety. Everything always being a shade of black and white, there would be not much variation. That would be so gray and sad. Everything and everyone would be the same. Color is what defines our world as beautiful. Too see world in color can improve our daily life in positive way and positivity makes us more productive.
Sometimes a little positive thinking and seeing world in color is all you need to get what you want. Do you believe in lottery winning? Or have you ever tried your destiny in lottery? It happened to me, I won a Green Card. First time in my life I tried my destiny in Green Card lottery and I won. When I heard about lottery I collected some information and I decided to apply.
I just wanted to try my destiny, but I was sure if I applied I would win. Every year the US Government runs the “DV-Lottery” Diversity Visa. It’s free. All you have to do is enter online, confirming you’ve either finished high school or had equivalent work experience. Every year almost 8 million people threw their names in the hat to win Permanent Residency in the US. Out of the millions that enter, 100,000 names are chosen and half of those eventually get a Green Card. Can you imagine, one of them was I.
I’m from Georgia, not US Georgia, from a small country, which located in the Caucasus, at the crossroads of Eastern Europe and Western Asia. There is the old folk story that tells how Georgian got our gorgeous country. When God was sharing out the world among the populous, the Georgian were absent, as they were too busy drinking and partying, which Georgian like to do. When the Georgians eventually showed up, the world had already been divided up, only small piece of land remained. God had earmarked this part of the world for himself by the sea.
God sighed, because he couldn’t be angry with marry Georgians and gave them the land had actually wanted to keep for himself. Because of this Georgian called their country “God’s own country”. It is the most beautiful country in the world with own old history, the most delicious food and with generous, friendly and hospitable people. Perhaps I have been lucky to be born in such a country. In my childhood I could only dream about America. It was unreachable like the sky. I always had a desire to travel America.
One day I read online an article about Green Card lottery. I don’t know why, but after that day I started often think about to live America. At that time I already have a family, a devoted husband and out little sunshine Natali. I used work at Security Police Department as a main specialist. To get this job I finished 6 months courses at Police Academy and I really worked hard. My husband used work at Georgian Post Office. Natali was 5 years old and went to the kinder garden. At a first glance our life was going like a calm river.
I remember it was last day to apply an application for Green Card lottery. My husband did not want to apply. He didn’t believe. He said to me “come on, Ana, who would let you win? How do you believe, are you a baby?” I’m very optimist person and I believe if something happens just for good reason. After 7 months, in May 2014, we checked answers and saw congratulation letters. It was midnight. I started scream with happiness. My voice was reaching to the sky. Everyone woke up scared. I screamed “I win Green Card, I win Green card”. In life we often get what we expect.
If we expect something good, it has a way of showing up. If we expect something bad, it too has a way of showing up. When we perceive life as good, we have much greater degree of happiness than someone who perceives it as bad. People who continuously perceive life as a struggle they have a tendency to find problems in every situation. Perception can be defined as our way to recognize and interpret information we’ve gathered through our senses. This also includes how we respond to a certain situation with the given information. Perception is how we react to situations. In other words, our behavior towards that situation.
Different people look at the same things but have different perceptions, we perceive things different ways, we draw different conclusions from similar perceptions. Different perceptions depend upon the varying interests, personal experiences, subjective attributes we form, our experiences with things differently at different states of mind. We are all the same as we appear to, but our thoughts and experience shape the reality we live in.
The whole experience has affected me in wonderful way and now I put all my efforts into breeding positivity in my life. Maybe it works and maybe is doesn’t, but absolutely nothing is impossible and maybe positive human energy has the power to create miracles.
