People who are truly successful in life are not the most impeccable individuals, they might have had plenty of hardships in their eternity. Those successful people never lost hope in what they wanted to achieve in life. In my early years around fifth grade, I tried out for the neighborhood basketball team. I thought I was a decent player, but I was wrong. I was mostly on the bench while all my teammates were scoring about ten points each.

Sometimes, I would get the starting position, but I would always get blocked and laughed at by everyone no matter what. I knew for myself that I was a complete failure to my teammates, coaches, and even my family. I was repeatedly taunted by my teammates for not being a great shooter like them. I did not try out the two seasons after because of what happened. I still had hope I could show everyone who I truly am. I started going to the basketball court every day and played pickup with slighter older individuals to get an idea of how I could get stronger on the court. In the eighth grade, I finally tried out for the team.

I saw my previous teammate getting all the recognition because of how well they played all these years. I finally showed them who I was. I showed them my hard work and determination on the court. I went to become the second highest scorer in the league and our team had won the championship. This shows how a person can be resilient in life to accomplish what they want to achieve. Regardless the fact that I was not the best shooter on the team a few years back, I never gave up and still achieved my dream to be one of the outstanding players in the neighborhood and win the championship.

In addition, when an individual is persisting to be unsuccessful, those people can grasp knowledge in what they did mistakenly prior, and those inaccurate things can evolve into some sort of success. During all of elementary school and the beginning of middle school, I was never a wise writer. When our class had journal time, it was hard for me to think about something to write while my classmates were already completed with the first two paragraphs. I felt embarrassed and felt like I couldn’t talk to anyone. To solve this, my parents and I agreed to a writing tutor to enhance my writing skills.

While the tutor and I were reviewing my journals, I gained more knowledge and ideas when talking to her. Without my tutor, I would still be struggling with my writing. Now, writing using my imagination is a simple task. Towards the end of middle and beginning of high school, my writing had been improving and becoming more advanced as I got more towards taking higher level English classes. As I got more interested in writing, I joined the creative writing club during summer break for more practice. I started to feel more confident after I spoke with my tutor which aided me to become a great writer.

Some people may argue that if people are unsuccessful at something they are trying to reach, it might not be the suitable thing for them to do, and failure can make someone lose trust in their progress. Having an optimal amount of involvement in something can drive the person to a successful future. But if an individual doesn’t have any interest in what they are doing, the ideal thing to do is to search for another field or activity they want to pursue in.

If a person fails in that but they have a substantial amount of passion for it, they should try again and don’t stop until they are satisfied with what they’ve done. When I was little, my dream was to become some type of engineer, primarily a Civil Engineer. I had all these legos at home I used to build every day when I came back from elementary school. Having such creativity wanted me to become an engineer. When I got older, my math skills started to improve and I’ve been getting mostly A’s and B’s from Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2.

I was extremely enthusiastic about math, I lost my passion for becoming an engineer and I wanted to pursue my career in Finance and Accounting. I’ve taken some engineering classes in middle school but I was never that creative and I wasn’t fascinated in that field anymore. If an individual is very interested in a field and goes through hardships, they should never give up and always try their absolute best. If someone lands a job they are not enthusiastic in, it will make their lives tough and it could lead to more failures because they don’t have a passion for it.

Overall, an abundant number of people consider that suffering from failure is only a particular moment to start over, only this time, with more critical thinking. Defeat can convey us to become more of a confident person and start over with a positive attitude and greater comprehension. An individual trying to achieve something can make them have the impression to feel like they are number one once they attain what they wanted to do. However, would it count as progress if there was zero disappointment or defeat? Also, if someone were to be successful in life and have a ton of interest in what they are doing, failure would be less a problem for those individuals.
