Pope John Paul II was born on 18th May 1920 in Poland in a medium sized family. Unfortunately, all of Pope John Paul II’s family passed away when he was very young. Firstly, his mother when he was 10 and his brother when Pope John Paul II was 12. At the age of 21 his father also passed away. These unfortunate passing caused Pope John Paul II to feel inspired by to love due to his pain. He was searching for meaning so he started his journey within the church. In 1946 he became a Priest, but he still felt that he wanted to strive to become more.
Furthermore, he later became a Bishop of Ombi in Italy in 1958. After sometime, in 1964 he became and the Archbishop of Krakow. His determination saw him be ordained into a Cardinal by Pope Paul VI, this was a significant time in Pope John Paul’s life because at the time Pope Saint Paul VI was head of the Catholic Church.
Pope John felt that he had achieved what he had set out to however, in 1978 he became the first non-Italian Pope in more than 400 years. Sadly and painfully for most of his supporters Pope John Paul II died on the 2nd of April 2005 at Apostolic Palace in the Vatican City. Pope John Paul II became a saint after his death because he led the Roman Catholic Church from 1978 to 2005, during the time of the fall of communism, including in his native country of Poland. He was a hard working and beloved Pope to everyone no matter what the circumstances were.
Youth Day
Pope John Paul II has made so much contribution to the Catholic Church. The main contribution that I have founded was the creation of World Youth Day. Lots of his supporters and I believe when John Paul II had created World Youth Day, it changed the face of the church. It brought smiles and joy, lost of singing and dancing of young people together, with endless culture and nation , proudly holding their flags high or wearing them on their t shirts, greeting one another in peace and love, trading their tokens, humbly realizing how small they are in a world of people, and strengthened to witness so many who share their firmly held belief or opinions that how peaceful we can be no matter where your race and nationality.
In 1984 his is called the Holy Year of Redemption, over 300,000 young people from around the world responded to the invitation of his holiness John Paul II for an International Jubilee of youth on Palm Sunday in St Peter’s square. This was the gathering that the Holy Father entrusted to the youth and freedom, what is now known as the World Youth Day Cross, to be carried throughout the world as a symbol of the love of Christ for humanity.
This helped so main young souls be influenced and impacted to be Christians and that it is important because it gave young and old Christians have hope , faith and something to look upon these are great factors, that make Christian from all over the world active towards the direction of the Catholic Church.
He made people revise the Catholic Church
St John Paul II refurbished the Church’s image and strengthening and its influence with everyday people and world leaders alike through a active campaign of global engagement. For the most part John Paul had been viewed from all part of the earth as old Italian guys in white sitting on some throne in Rome.
In demonstrating a willingness to think and act outside the l box, John Paul inspired many Catholics and just as importantly and made billions of others look at the Catholic Church in a new way. John Paul II demonstrated change in so many ways John Paul make people revise with mighty speeches which made Catholic rethink, how we can be kinder and how we as a community can be and not to be afraid and the best enjoyment comes from God. This influenced thousand of Catholics around the world and generation to come.
A model for the Catholic Church
As we celebrate the feast day of the Polish Pope called John Paul II. We grateful for diverse impact and addition he gave the church. John Paul II was a brave and courageous Saint to driffened the church. He proved this when he played a central role in ending communism in Eastern Europe and the Soviet Union. John Paul II didn’t buy him self defeat the Soviet empire but John Paul II’s 1979 nine-day visit to his native Poland gave hope to his nation and inspired his countrymen to be confident to fight for their rights. The Soviets’ internal economic decomposition.
The bold leadership of John Paul II, is why the Soviets did not invade Poland in 1980 like they did Hungary in 1956. These were crucial factors that led to the realization of Europe and the end of the cold war, this part of John Paul’s journey which played an important role for the Catholic Church because it shows that anyone can make a difference no matter how complicated.
Another significant factor of how John Paul served as a model is St Paul assassination attempt. Beginning in August the 13 of May 1980 when the Pope passed through an adoring and excited crowd of supporters Agca fired four shots at with a 9mm with a high-powered semi-automatic pistol the pope was shot. The pop immediately rush to the hospital.
Few day later Agca was court and sentences to 30 years in jail. As soon as John Paul II got out of hospital John Paul II went to the jail where his assassination was located it a Italian jail. John Paul II did the incredible instead getting angry or frustrated at the Assassinator John Paul II spoke to him and forgave his sines. This is a great example of a model because even though he did something dreadful to John Paul II and was the victim he moved on and also forgave him and didn’t hold a grudge.
