In life there are many questions we have that are never answered and therefore are forgotten. The question that I want answered is, does god exist? This is a very controversial argument in today’s society. To explain my question further, I want to know if there is a higher being than us (God). The argument lies between belief and scientific hard-core evidence. Religion has been in our culture for many centuries. It has been used to control large masses and has been used to conquer certain places. The ultimate question is does god exist?

Some people argue that god does not exist, while others say that god is the creator of all and everything. While looking for answers I stumbled upon an article stating, “Jesus’ miracles were witnessed by many and were documented redundantly for additional corroboration. He was seen by at least 500 people after his resurrection. He was seen ascending into heaven. Peter, James, and John saw his transfiguration. His wisdom in dealing with many circumstances was astounding. He never promoted Himself or His miracles. C. S. Lewis stated that He couldn’t have just been a good teacher. He was a liar, lunatic, or Lord. He didn’t even come close to meeting the profile of a liar or lunatic, so He had to be God.” (Creation)This brings some good points while I was reading over it. It shows the eyewitness’s that documented Gods miracles on earth can prove the existence of God. It doesn’t dismiss that God might not be real but it gets you thinking, why would anyone create a fake person and document there life.

After going through many books and articles, I found an article that explains where science comes in to play to prove that god is real or not. In article states,” A common objection to the “God hypothesis” is the problem of how God came to be. If everything has a cause, why does God get an exception? The problem with such reasoning is that it assumes that time has always existed. In reality, time is a construct of this universe and began at the initiation of the Big Bang.

A God who exists outside the time constraints of the universe is not subject to cause and effect. So, the idea that God has always existed and is not caused follows logically from the fact that the universe and time itself was created at the Big Bang. The Bible makes these exact claims – that God has always existed and that God created time, along with the entire universe, being described as an expanding universe. Why can’t the universe be uncaused? (Deem)” After reading this article is has changed my view on everything.

This article shows the scientific and logical explanation on if God is real or not. Many people say that if there is reasoning in this world then God cannot exist because the reasoning behind his existence does not make sense at all. Religion has been in our lives for centuries, but if God is not real then what was the point of Religion in the first place? Was it just to control large populations and urge them to something that the government wants them to do?

I also came across an article that the author expresses his opinion on if God is real or not. The author R. Robert Creech stated, “Christian thinkers would answer yes, but we must be careful to define what is meant by “real.” Christians speak of God’s nature as being spiritual rather than physical. Among the implications of this claim is the idea that God is neither bound nor described by the physical laws of this universe. God does not consist of matter.

Christians believe that God is present equally and fully in the entire universe, and yet is also distinct from and lord over it. No place exists where God is absent; the entire universe reveals his presence and power. (Creech)” What the author is trying to explain is that physically god might not be real but spiritually he could be. Everyone believes that God is spiritually always with us, and if that is so then we cannot disprove that God does not exist. There is no evidence that can either prove or disprove Gods spirit being with us. The only evidence would be the belief that we as humans have, that God is always with us.

So the conclusion that I have come down to while researching my question was that there is not straightforward answer. It all comes back down to the physical evidence or the moral and reasonable evidence needed to prove or disprove God’s existence. As of now we are lacking evidence on both sides of the argument. This topic in today’s society is a dark spot due to the in conclusion of the question. It has not had a straightforward answer about the question. If I were to make an assumption from the research that I have done so far, I would conclude that God does not exist due to the reasonable information that I had found.
