In this day and age, poor nutrition is on the rise, from fast food to processed food in the freezer. It might taste good at the time, but it will eventually lead to some deeper situations that are not very good; such as stress, heart disease, diabetes, and many other possibilities. There are a ton of health benefits to eating well-balanced meals and snacks throughout a day that will increase productivity and the possibility of living a little longer. Consuming great nutrition might not be as easy, or tasty but it definitely will reduce stress, improve energy, reduced diabetes risk, and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Great nutrition will ultimately lead to a better lifestyle and have great effects on a long-term basis.

Proper nutrition is one of the most essential elements to being healthy and living a long life. People deal with food every day, and food has been a part of life since the beginning of civilization. What we eat becomes our diet, and our diet plays an important role in deciding how healthy we are and how well our body functions. Without proper diet, our body cannot carry out the functions it needs to perform. Most people have some common knowledge about what is good and what is bad for the human body to consume. Proper nutrition increases productivity and creates a no-fail environment, while also increasing the energy that is natural for the body and not the processed energy drinks. There are really no cons for eating right, but there are many pros to doing so.

One is that the risk of diabetes drops greatly with a little care to the body, with that being said, it is alright to have a little snack every once in a while so long as it is all in moderation. Another is that it helps control weight and keeps the body healthy and happy, nobody wants to be overweight but sometimes they do not know where to start. Eating a healthy diet that includes lots of fruit, vegetables, whole grains, and a moderate amount of unsaturated fats, meat and dairy can help you maintain a steady weight. Having a good variety of these foods every day leaves less room for foods that are high in fat and sugar – a leading cause of weight gain.

All good nutrition takes is putting the right amount of food in the body and making sure it has a nutritious value is the key to seeing results in weight loss, or staying the same size. The heart will benefit from eating healthy balanced meals rather than fast food or processed freezer food. A healthy diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and low-fat dairy can help to reduce the risk of heart disease by maintaining blood pressure and cholesterol levels. Eating well-balanced foods might just be overall what the people need to be happy.

Poor nutrition has taken its toll on this society and poses great health risks to the people who tend to put nonnutritious food in their body. The leading causes of death in the United States are caused by dietary health-related symptoms. Poor eating habits include under- or over-eating, not having enough of the healthy foods we need each day, or consuming too many types of food and drink, which are low in fiber or high in fat, salt and/or sugar. These unhealthy eating habits can affect our nutrient intake, including energy protein, carbohydrates, essential fatty acids, vitamins, and minerals as well as fiber and fluid.

Poor nutrition can impair our daily health and well-being and reduce our ability to lead an enjoyable and active life. In the short term, poor nutrition can contribute to stress, tiredness, and our capacity to work, and over time, it can contribute to the risk of developing some illnesses and other health problems. Type-2 diabetes can be one of those health problems in life caused by eating the wrong foods. It can take a toll upon the people it affects but it can be managed by a proper diet and exercise. Poor nutrition can lead to high cholesterol, which is a primary contributor to heart disease.

High-fat diets are common in the United States and Canada. The National Institutes of Health reports that more than 500,000 people in the United States die each year due to heart disease, which can be caused by a high-fat diet. High cholesterol foods contain a large amount of saturated fat. Examples include ice cream, eggs, cheese, butter, and beef. Instead of high-fat foods, choose lean proteins such as chicken, turkey, fish, and seafood and avoid processed foods. (According to The National Institutes of Health, Article “Healthy Eating”)

The things a person eats do not just affect health, they also affect school or work in your life. How much work getting done is a key factor in a diet, if it is good it produces a lot of natural energy that is in fact good. Productivity is a major step in getting good grades or meeting a quota at work. The nutrients put into the body allow the body to keep going and thriving, rather if they were bad nutrients that make people want to be sluggish and stay in bed all day. Energy levels are not the only way the brain is affected by poor nutrition. One may experience mild irritability when eating processed foods.

Over time, poor nutrition can increase your risk of depression and anxiety. Anxiety and depression can make it difficult to concentrate at work. In severe cases, it can make it difficult to even get out of bed in the morning. Nutrition does not only affect mood and energy levels, but it also impacts your creativity. Knowing this might be especially helpful in work or study in a creative environment, where one is constantly expected to tap into this energy. People often associate nutrition with weight maintenance, but eating well is just as important for nourishing the brain.

My own experience with nutrition is that my mom is a big advocate for healthy living and proper nutrition. She always claims that to be in a healthy state of mind I must eat right. I know that has affected the way my family eats and watches what we put in our body. When I put poor nutrition in I can really tell a difference in my productivity level. I really can not focus on my work that needs to be done and that really drains my energy level for the whole day. Whether it would be school, work, or sports, that all takes good fuel in the body to keep the body going on natural energy.

In football Coach McCaffery says, “always fuel your body with the natural stuff, do not fuel your body with the fake stuff because you will notice a difference in how you play, I promise you, fellas.” This is a true statement, I would notice a difference in my playing level. When I fuel myself with nutrients that are helpful to keep me proactive and energized but are also healthy for me can make me a better football player and an even better student. The fact of the matter is great nutrients for the body can go a long way in helping one succeed in life.

In contrast, a poor diet can lead to insidious health problems that can interfere with success in academic and social performance and may eventually mean confronting a serious long-term illness, such as heart disease or diabetes. Knowing how much and what to eat is important knowledge. A better lifestyle is obtainable by just a few nutritional steps that anybody can take.

When eating great nutrition it can it lower the risk for type 2 diabetes, and heart disease that will better oneself in the long run. Poor nutrition could ultimately lead to lack of productivity and energy in school and work, also will lead to health risks that can pose as real problems. Nutrition does not just influence health but also the brain, in the creativity center as well as lessening anxiety. Great nutrition will ultimately lead to a better lifestyle and have great effects on a long-term basis.
