My company, Tesla Motors, creates purely electric vehicles. Tesla was founded by people who believe that it is possible to create a car that is exhilarating to drive and friendly towards the environment. Since it was founded in 2003 and releasing its first car in 2008, Tesla vehicles have saved a total of 3,932,529 tons of carbon dioxide, and that number is increasing by the second. They believe that they can get the world to move towards a zero emission future. What makes Tesla so special is their technology that allows them to create a powerful and environmentally friendly vehicle, which no other company offers. Their products offer a sleek and modern design, with a comfortable interior. Their cars can be known as an “electric sports car.”

Although their early models were expensive, they are trying to move towards making more affordable and accessible vehicles. Because of their aerodynamic shape, they easily breeze through the air, allowing them to have quick acceleration. Each car contains a touch-screen, offering the driver easy to use access. Another special quality Tesla vehicles possess is their software, which can be updated regularly and can upgrade new features onto the car, much like a smartphone. Meaning, that each Tesla will only get better over time through software updates. Specifically, their Tesla Model S received the highest rating ever in the automobile industry with a score of 98% customer satisfaction.

The product I would be selling is Tesla’s Model 3. One of the features of this vehicle is safety. It is the first sedan to have achieved a five star safety rating due to its low rollover risk and impact protection. Its structure is composed of steel and aluminum. The Model 3 can withstand four-times its own mass, even with a completely glass roof. It also has extreme traction in all weather conditions, with a low center of gravity due to the heavy weight of the battery. Another one of the Model 3’s features is its speed. It can accelerate to sixty miles per hour in 3.3 seconds.

Due to its improved aerodynamics, it can reach up to 155 miles per hour. It also has two independent motors for the front and rear wheels. This vehicle can also travel 310 miles with a full battery, which only takes 30 minutes to charge. If you are worried about running out of battery while on the road, there are 12,000 charging locations across the country, with new charging stations being put into place every week. Some of the most advanced features is being able to use your smartphone as a key, more legroom than any of our other models, and an all glass roof. Other features includes: navigation that adjusts to real time traffic conditions, custom audio system with 15 speakers.

In my buying and selling process, I would begin to speak to my client, who is a person who has expressed interest or I believe they would be interested in buying a Tesla, by calling them on the phone. Tesla does not sell their cars to dealerships, so I would be selling my product directly to a customer. Tesla’s typical customer is young and successful, and can afford buying an expensive car, with average annual incomes ranging from $150,000 to $175,000. Data also says that the average owner is 71% male and 29% female. They typically do not have children, with 66% of them not having any children. With this in mind, I would utilize this phone call to get the opportunity to learn more about my customer and gain their trust. During this phone call, I would aspire to achieve my goals for the conversation and pick up on cues about what kind of personality they have through their use of words. I would then set a time and date to meet my customer in person to avoid selling through the phone.

I would be speaking to my customer in one of Tesla’s Service Plus centers. These centers provide small and intimate locations across the US. Tesla sells its own cars through their own branded stores instead of selling through a dealer. The goals of Tesla’s sales people is not to be pushy to sell a car, but to instead educate them on what our electric cars can provide. They emphasize that they hope every person leaves with a smile after their first experience learning about them, so that they can come back and buy one to be a part of our community. In my buying selling process, I would first educate my customer extensively about electric cars, and what makes our Tesla cars so special.

Most potential Tesla customers come into the stores to learn about the technology of the car. During this process, I will answer any questions my customer may have as well as provide them with pamphlets and visuals as to how the car is built and designed. I will provide them on how much they can expect to pay in electricity as opposed to gas, and show them how electric cars have fewer service requirements. They will even have a chance to look at a vehicle themselves. During the buying process, customers would have the opportunity to customize their own cars, and usually have to wait months until they receive their vehicle.

When purchasing your Model 3 Tesla, you must first reserve it with a down payment of $1,000 in which your name is placed on a reservation list. After you receive an email with this confirmation, it can take three to six weeks for the process to be completed. The standard cost is $35,000, customers may also choose from a variety of upgrades which will increase the price of your Tesla.

There are multiple payment options, ranging from cash, leasing or third party financial institutions. Each car is produced in Fremont, California, in Tesla’s factory. For the day of the delivery, there are multiple videos on our website to help prepare for the delivery of your vehicle, you will need your driver’s license, a copy of you auto insurance, and your final payment. Before your vehicle arrives you will need to install charging for your Tesla at home, we also provide installation services in most states.
