According to Lawler Kang, author of Passion at Work, “Try to come up with a high-level passion, even a mission…” Passion is the catalyst for motivation and finding an underlying mission in the workforce and life. When people have a passion for what they do, they strive to become better. According to an article in Inc., “only about 1 out of 5 people end up in the profession they dreamed of as a kid.” This means only twenty percent of people have passion for their careers or jobs. Most times, people choose to give up on their passion in order to make a living. When people are passionate about a subject, they tend to strive to know more about it. According to an article on Inc., “Heather Gillihan, franchisee with Zoom Room Trophy Club in Texas, went from a lucrative career as a rocket scientist … to environmental engineering.” This means that even though she had a career, she still chose to transition and learn more about something that she is passionate about. As she was passionate about this career, she learned more and more about it. According to an article on wisestep, “… You will be improving in terms of skills and knowledge.” This shows that if you are passionate about your career, you will strive to learn more. Many people say that if you enjoy the subject, you are more likely to want to learn more about it. People who are passionate about something tend to strive to learn more about it.

People who love their jobs tend to excel at them. According to an article on Tempstar Staffing, “…People who have risen to the tops of their fields all possess a deep motivation that gives them the wherewithal to work extraordinarily hard at something…” This shows that if you are passionate and work hard enough, you can excel. When you love something, you want to do well. Basketball player Michael Jordan states “…The greatest thing about the game of basketball to me is the passion and the love I have for it.” This shows that is passion made him who he is today. If Jordan was not passionate about basketball, he would not have come this far. People who have a passion for what they do tend to excel.

People who have a passion for their job tend to lead enjoyable careers. According to Steve Jobs, the founder of Apple, “The only way to do great work is to love what you do.” Many people say that if you are passionate about your job, it is more enjoyable. By being passionate about his career, he has achieved great feats. According to the previously used Michael Jordan quote, “… The greatest thing about the game of basketball to me is the passion and the love I have for it.” This shows that Jordan’s passion for his job makes him enjoy playing the sport. Others may believe that having knowledge of your career is better than having a passion for it. According to Candace Elliot in her blog, Listen Money Matters, “The most valuable thing in the world is knowledge. Everything else in our lives, money, health, things, love, they can all come and go.” This shows that the author believes that having knowledge is extremely important. For people to do an excellent job, having knowledge is helpful. For example, a lawyer needs seven years of education post high school, including successfully passing a GRE exam and ultimately a bar exam. Lawyers gain an immense amount of knowledge before going into the field and working with cases. They need knowledge to be able to work properly. In some cases, having knowledge for your career could be better than having a passion for it.

Having passion for a career fuels a yearning for people to know more about the subject and with the knowledge they obtain they have the chance to excel while enjoying their career. According to an article on Richard Branson, “There is no greater thing you can do with your life and your work than follow your passions in a way that serves the world and you.” This shows that working for your passion brings great joy. If you follow your passion you will live satisfied. According to a different article on Inc, “In fact, some of the biggest names in business–for example, Apple, Etsy, Under Armour and Instagram–all started ‘on the side.’ This shows that some of the biggest business names were started by people who had a passion for it. These businesses were started with passion. Having passion for your career makes people strive to do better and leads to an enjoyable career.
