One hot and rainy afternoon in the summer of 2017, my mom, my brother and I just got done shopping at Best Buy, it was really cool by the way. Anyways, we just got back to our house and was about to run inside when all of a sudden I had an idea to play tag in the rain, I mean who thinks of that? So after I got the idea I took my shoes off in the car and started running around like an idiot in the rain. After a while, I finally told my mom and brother that we should play tag, and they accepted. So after maybe five minutes blah blah blah… here comes the interesting part. I ran around the corner of the house waiting for my mom to run around the corner so I could “break their ankles”, but then when they came instead of breaking their ankles, I broke mine. Yes I know I know, Zack how the heck did you do that, ya it’s a really stupid way to break your leg I’ll tell u that. Anyway, after maybe 2 minutes of screaming and writhing in pain, my mom finally picked me up and help me into her car.
Then she just had to take five minutes just to get her purse and her hair done while I was sitting in her trunk of the car squealing like a baby pig. When she finally got me to the emergency bay at the hospital, she called one of her friends to come to help me out of the car. After he got me out after like 5 minutes they took me to a surgery room and put me on anesthesia. Let me tell you something, normally I hate hate hate shots, but at that time I was so focused on my leg that I didn’t care about the five different times they had to put a needle inside my skin.
When they got the IV inside my arm they had to lift me onto the bed to start my surgery. I was under stasis for maybe one hour. After I woke up all I looked at for 5 minutes straight was the big white thing on my leg. All I could think in my head was,” Is this preparation for my leg to be amputated????? But in reality, it is just a type of cast that is used to get me ready for my hard cast. When I was fully awake, they let my parents take me home. After about 1 week though I was back into the hospital so they could put these tiny screws into me.
After I stayed overnight because I wasn’t ready to go home soon after surgery. They let me go home in the morning. Maybe 5 weeks later I was in this physical therapy place, I got changed into a hard cast, it was green yay. Now I had to sit and wait for it to heal for about 3 more weeks before I went to a boot, so that meant I had to start physical therapy. It sucked so much and hurt in the process, but it did help me recover a lot, and I mean A LOT. Physical therapy continued into school until the last day in the middle of school, was over…… So, guys that was the story of my WHOLE SUMMER in 2017, it was a doooooozy to write this one. Thanks for reading, byeeeeee.
